Default What would you trade your off roster pistol for?

Out of curiosity if you had a firearm that was in demand (and off roster) and you have been offered $2,000.00 multiple times.. what firearms would YOU be willing to trade for?

A better gun? $2000 is a lot of handgun and it's possible you could get a nicer, on roster gun for the same money. But it really depends on what gun it is and what you'd want to trade for.

Or Skyhawk's suggestion of C&R collector's pieces that will be more of an investment and likely increase in value more than the flavor of the week off roster.

Depends on how much I paid for it. If it was a glock 19 gen 5 and someone paid the calguns $3k price tag for it I'd pick up a Wilson EDC or Nighthawk falcon.

The problem is - not many people are going to trade a nice Colt SAA for the latest plastic fantastic, off roster or not. They probably wouldn't even trade it for a new Colt 9mm Competition etc.

If you can't trade UP - then just take the cash for it.

It would have to be very interesting and rare, maybe a mint P7 with lots of mags.

But for now, I don’t see selling my STI Edge

If I had a Glock 19X I would trade it in a heartbeat for a Les Baer Premier II

Out of curiosity, why did you put a value of $2,000? It really depends on how much I paid for the off roster gun and how much I want something else.

But to answer your question, I would trade it for a Sig P210.

It's not how much they offer you for a gun, but how much *premium* they offer you for a gun.

If you're making a few hundred bucks, well, you're just a few hundred bucks ahead. If you're doubling your "investment," then you are about 1,000 ahead. It's quite simple math if you just trade it for cash, then acquire whatever you desire....

One scenario, assumed that you do not want to heir your off-roster pistol to your son then.
OK, let say he offered 2K multiple times that means you firearm worth more than 2K, how about , talk him out for 2.5K then
- Buy a NIB Glock - then ask the Glock fan boys how good the Glock is.
- Then 30 days later buy a NIB CZ-75, then ask the CZ's enthusiasms how good is the CZ is.
- Then 30 days later, chip in couple hundred buck and buy NIB Springfield 1911 TRP, then ask the 1911's lovers how good is the 1911.

One off-Roster pistol for 3 "recommended" pistols. I thing it a win win win situation. Or you can hold on to your off-Roster pistol and brag around

My two cents.

Edit: A "real" Calguner will reply with : Love the idea , but already had those three

I'd trade for a lawsuit victory challenging the roster.

Depends. Are you roster exempt?? If so, take the cash and run cuz you can always buy what you want later on. If not, I'd still take the cash and run. Nothing off roster is worth the insane markups people are paying (unless there's definite collector's value).

I would trade it for 2000 units of money.

But joking aside, I would trade it for a Sig 365 once they fixed all the reliability issues (apparently it does not return to battery reliably).

Remember to leave as many off roster guns as you can in this state. Just to piss off the losers in Sacramento.
