Default Scope for Japanese type 97?

Does anyone know any good auction locations or a place to find a scope for a type 97 Japanese sniper rifle?

there's a guy that goes to gunshow of the west shows with an entire stall dedicated to Imperial Japanese goodies. I bet he can find you one.

let me see if I still have his business card. He helped me locate a dust cover and sling loop for my Type 38 a while back.

The guy's name at the gun show (at least Crossroads in Orange County) is Wally Morishige. He was out of Las Vegas, office: 702-804-5660, email is w.morishige@worldnet.att.net
I had his business card from over a year ago, so hope it is still good. A very good guy and VERY knowledgeable on Japanese stuff. I bought some 8 mm ammo and a Type 14 holster from him.

Look over at the subforums on www.gunboards.com They have an Imperial Japanese forum, a sniper rifle forum, and a WTB forum.

aka: "Firearms of the Rising Sun": that would be the Banzai gents.
A great outfit. Fair warning: Get ready for some serious sticker-shock on a genuine T97 optics rig .......

I have bought and sold T97 scopes on eBay before. Be aware that these were hand fitted to the rifle, so you might buy a scope that doesn't quite fit the rifle you have.

If you go to the aforementioned Gunboards.com forum, look up Vic Soto. He has been compiling information on Japanese sniper rifles for years and he might be able to help you fund the one that was meant for your rifle. You might also want to contact 03Man, as he made an adapter for mounting a commercial scope to the T97's scope base. Good luck!
