Nice job. Just spent 3 days hiking more than I ever have to come up empty on elk.

2 pigs. Not bad for a Saturday hunt. Herd of about 70 came in. I was able to shoot two sows. The boars were WAY to big for me to be able to get into the truck myself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Browning BAR 7mmRM. 150gr Hand loads. Smaller pig (150-160 lbs) was 30 yds, shot between the eyes and blew up the back of the skull. The larger pig (220- lbs) was prego and 175 yds. Shot just below the ear and blew out the jugular. Both came from the same herd. 10 minutes apart. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Had a great deer hunt in Kansas this past week
A great 4 days of bow hunting in KS. i missed three deer last year, and nearly ran out of arrows. redeemed myself this year. Passed on a great 9 point at 9am on the first day at 20 yards. i figured it was too early to tag out...mistake. spend the next 3 days seeing lot of deer but nothing big in range. Finally at 9am on the fourth day, this guy came in at 35 yards, and i didn't hesitate this time. Used a three blade mechanical rage broadhead that put a monster hole straight through both shoulders. He ran/stumbled about 60 yards and fell dead. huge blood trail. weighted just over 240lbs, and scored 157 5/8ths. has three added scorable points on one of his bases. could be the best deer i'll ever kill with a bow.

Eastern OR OTC tag. spike tags are really hard!! I worked for this one, all day deal. saw them leave private and couldn't close the gap. We Left camp at 5 am. got, back at 3 pm.
He got shot by the road where we loaded him up whole, we were racing down the mountain to cut the heard off after they decided to drop off some nasty stuff. Edit. How to resize ? original is too big and these look little small. ]

Finished the big game season today.
4 point plus brow tines. 280 yards and had to wait about an hour for him to stand up. He had 6 or 7 does with him. Hopefully he had been having a good time before I got him. Took 3 trips to get him out. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

Bagging Rights - I'll Bite - How many of you are able to get your wife to go with you?
Thought so - LOL We fish catch and release. We only keep what is injured and won't survive. These are Chinook Salmon - limit One a day for non-locals. I don't like posting our faces on the internet but These are couple of pics from Alaska - The one I am holding was caught in the first 1/2 hour of my fishing day. I kept him because he was injured - That shut me down for the rest of the day. The other is common to what we caught and released the rest of that trip - 30LBS tad more or less. The wife just about got pulled in and down stream a few times.

How about Young Black & Brown Bear. Some of many that day - A bit close for comfort - Interrupted my fishing. The adults usually hang around about 2 miles up stream. Lots of food so usually no problems. The Moose are alway Problems. I'm not a hunter any more - I enjoy just watching now.

Great day hunting!
Picture taken during deer season last year in Red Bluff on private property. Got the buck in the morning near our camp site. I could see something moving through the trees and I thought for sure another doe. Slowly walked up and saw antlers and I couldn't believe my eyes. I could feel my heart beat. Buck was only about 35 yards and had no idea I was there. Shot went through and through with my Remington 30-06. Buck went about 10 feet from the spot I shot. Same date after lunch we saw a lone boar walking and I laid down and took the shot and got him. Great day hunting. Hunting is so addicting! My wife doesn't understand how I can have so much fun hunting.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling. I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest. |

I am very curious when you get a big size of prey, will you eat them? So how do you eat the big prey like more than 200 lbs? This will need to take a long time and even the fridge is too small to put the big animal inside.

Most hunters I know have a extra freezer in their garage. That way you can store the meat for a long time. You can also turn some meat into jerky which preserves it without the need to keep it cold. It’s also not uncommon to give your guide, the land owner, or others in your party that helped you, some of your harvest as a thank you. |

Took a detour from work in Alaska to fish out of Sitka.
Caught plenty of silvers, one small king and one halibut that was too big with slot limits. Had the fish shipped home and man it is good eating. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

Where'd you hit him? Looks like a shot to the head and the body. Kill shot on the head after a body shot? Nice work, I need to get out more this year. I had one small fork in my sight on archery opener but never had a clear shot. It was really low light in thick brush and he was with a spike and couldn't quite tell who was who until they were out of range so I passed. Hopefully soon!
