How does that TC Compass compare to the Rem 783, Savage Axis II XP, Howa Hogue and Ruger American?

If you're looking for a 6.5, I'd pay a little more and get the Ruger Predator. Get a bull barrel, threaded barrel, removable mag. The bolt is smooth and the trigger is pretty good for a stock one.

+1 on the Ruger Predator. For that price, the TC does seem like a good budget rifle for introducing new shooters.

I handled a TC chambered in .30-06 yesterday. I felt the bolt was a bit rough compared to the Ruger American and Howa. No personal experience with the 783, but I have handled the Axis, and it's bolt was comparable to the TC, in my opinion. Then again, it will probably smooth out with use.
