I posted a comment on his profile page that we are waiting for a response from him. Hopefully he doesn't blow us off again.

On the GB2 thread, someone walked into Ares and got a new grip. So much for the GBs getting priority. Where's our grips?

I received the paperweight through the GB coordinators and not directly from Ares. That's why Ares said I needed to get the replacement grips the same way.

Sure would be nice if the group buy coordinators chimed in. Maybe others should post comments on their profile page? Globetrotter logs into the forum on a regular basis. It is bs that he can't update us on the status.

Lloyd / Glbtrottr you need to reach out to Ares and get this finished. They have told me that they have tried to call / contact you and have no response.

bigcalidave,
That would be great! Unfortunately, globetrotter and banana do not respond to any pm's through the forum regarding this group buy that they started. Since you have a direct contact with Ares, is there any way to have Ares ship out the grips directly as they said they would several months ago? Ares has the information because it was given to them for shipping out the gen 1 grips that never came and the jigs that did come. They took the responsibility from globe and banana already. Can you find out why that has now changed again? I know I would rather pay 10 extra bucks for usps priority shipping directly from Ares just to get this over with once and for all and not have to deal with the group buy coordinators.

Try banning globetrotter and banana to see if you can get their attention. If not make the ban permanent.

At the very least we need the list of who is owed grips. I have four coming from this group buy and two from the other. With all the other parts and kits I have bought I have thousands of dollars tied up!!!

Let's get this over with!

Any news from Glbtrottr or the banana? I picked up my frames direct from them. Hope this can get figured out soon. Gb2 is starting to get their grips.

His last post might have been on 7-13 but he logged in yesterday. He took our money and is responsible. Let's just get this behind us.

Huh?

I haven't logged in since the last post I made to talk to Ares when the grips were still not ready. This was months ago - so any Tapatalk or other login has typically or likely not been on my end - though other people in my house use the computers.

A couple of days ago I received a call from the Banana who spoke or messaged with Dimitri regarding the grips being ready. Hallellujah!

A year and...how long?

A couple of things:

Default Ares Rudius Grips
Lloyd, please step up and respond to the group buy thread. The grips are available, I've talked to Dimitri about it, he's waiting for a response from you. If you can't fulfill the final part of this group buy, we need to move to the next option. I can take over the shipping of the grips, but I need the final customer / order list to do it.

You collected shipping funds from most people who ordered, I'd like to know what you did with that money. Is there anything left for the grips? Did you provide the money to Ares when they were shipping out some of the frames?

Please provide answers, people are getting impatient.

Dave"

I can't say enough times that every cent I collected on this group buy was given to Ares. Moreover, I paid for shipping on a substantial number of frames, and given the separate grip shipment which no one paid for, this demands additional expense...Ares shipped a number of frames at their expense and we shipped some old grips separately ourselves. Hopefully that answers the "money" question.

I refused to log in to Calguns to be harrassed by the daily whine when the collective group agreed to take possession of their frames and wait for their grips. Now that we've waited over a YEAR AND A HALF for grips and they are finally trickling out, I will be happy to get them to you as soon as I am able to coordinate with Ares to get these to you.

We all put money down, we all took a risk, and we all faced challenges. Dimitri has gone out of his way to honor his end as have I in light of some of Ares' business challenges that we all signed up for.

Now that they're ready, I can hopefully get these all out to people, put this ordeal behind us, people can finally enjoy their 80%, and we can all resume our normal calgunning.

Ares received the list of customers along with addresses, and they have it. We have a number of customers who opted to not expose their name and address for reasons that we know all know and love dealing with Ares and ATF. We will get to that list ASAP, and that is around 30 or so grips - perhaps 40, many of which are our own.

Any questions, besides "when can I get my grips", I will gladly entertain over PM.

Thank you all for your patience.

Was notified by Ares today that they are shipping my grips direct tomorrow. Am cautiously optimistic that I will soon be completely finished with this GB.

Thank you for responding. You really didn't have to make it a rant, everyone just wanted to know where you were on this. I wrote you because I'm getting constant PMs from people asking me to do something about it, and the website shows you apparently logging in, all you had to do was say something in this thread. You don't need to post a private message from me, although I still don't see my message as anything other than reasonable questions.

bigclaidave,
There was nothing wrong with the message that you sent him. We all just want some answers. Actually, we have all just wanted an occasional update. An update from them would have probably eliminated 99% of the pm's they got. Thanks for taking the steps you did. Hopefully we can all get this behind us and make some great builds.

Enthusiast,

What a treat. Truly. Thanks for getting a great chuckle out of us.

Glad the grips are finally out - I'm sure this will get cleared up within a week or two.

Thanks everyone!

the "Hitler Reacts" meme is so old it was already played out when this GB started...
but perhaps that was part of what's funny about your post.
in any event, nice job, definitely chuckle-worthy.

Ares shipped me frames direct. Does that mean they will ship me grips? Do I need to bug them or do they still have the list?

So if Ares has a list, do we contact them about getting the grips? Or do we contact the GB leaders (glbtrottr/The Banana)?? What is the process to get this taken care of and over with?? I don't think that I ever gave my address to anyone for this so I'm not sure how to go about it since I met up with The Banana to pick up the frames.

The group buy coordinators collected the money and were originally responsible for getting this done...a year and a half ago.

Then, As Ares changed hands and a new CEO came to be, he began to claim many things about this product and other items that have since been deemed to be untrue. He chimed in this thread and made commitments that most in this thread were interested in...so most everyone agreed to get their frames now and grips later, and have Ares ship directly.

Ares has since shipped all of the frames, save for a list of people concerned with ATF's interest in Ares' customer lists. So, they have a list of most of the group buyers, except for those who wanted to keep their purchase anonymous.

Ares has a list of all those who asked not to be anonymous, and is responsible for shipping those grips. Since then, Dimitri went back and took over Ares, and being the honorable guy that he is, is doing his best to help us get the group buy complete.

We will have a bunch of grips to make sure that everyone who needs one gets one. If you walk into Ares with your frame and no grips, I am sure they will be kind enough to give you one as opposed to selling you one.

Likewise - picked my frames up from Banana, is this going to be the way to get the grips or are you waiting to see if Ares will do it first? Once and for all clear answers, please. Vagueness is just going to result in more confusion and frustration for everyone.

Oh, I'm sorry for the lack of clarity - genuinely! We need to drive down to Ares and pick up a box of grips. Just found out they're shipping them end of last week, so we will be making a trek and either delivering them in person, or shipping them to those we shipped frames directly to. Just give us a couple of days to go down to pick them up. Glad to see that Ares is getting back to a good place.

Cheers...

I've PM'ed you glbtrottr about my address not being the same as when Ares shipped me the jig.

Who do I need to contact to get my address too?

If you can hunt my pm down from last week, I'd appreciate if you could have a read, as it goes into more detail.

I know your busy, I just don't want a box of grips going to my old crack house apartment complex. I'll never see 'em!

For what it's worth, I just picked up my grips. (I was a FTF delivery and picked up my frames there previously) I showed them my gen I grips and they happily gave me the Gen II. Everyone was friendly, and the impression I got was that they will me happy to move past this when all the grips are distributed.
