Any idea how long the wait time is for ammo ordered from CMP? Thinking about pulling the trigger on some .30 carbine and Greek 30-06

Seems to be about as long as the gun orders themselves! I ordered 400 rounds of Greek 30-06 and 500 Hornady range rounds on 2/14 and it is still showing "Processing" and "Ship Date TBD"

It's here!

Muzzle wear of 0, throat of 2.
New CMP stock, I'm assuming birch, but could almost pass for walnut. Super dry.

My DBU was 2/7. I really hope to hit the estore next week. It is getting so close I can feel it. Went from checking estore 1x/day to 3x/day to about 5x/day now. Next week will probably be checking every 30 min.

Still waiting for estore on the SA Service Grade, but ordered 400 rds of Greek 30-06 and 500 rounds of .30 carbine today. Let the waiting begin anew.

Update!

Mailed: 2/26/13
Received: 3/4/13
DBU: 3/13/13
eStore:
Delivery:

eStore account already created and customer number is consistent with the one they noted in the email. By receiving DBU, does that mean the documents I provided to them with my order are good to go, and nothing else is needed?

Also, does this mean I can order ammo or other things from eStore now and have it shipped right away? Not sure if this was all discussed and I am at work so can't flip through 12 pages of past posts...

Thanks.

you can order from the estore but having it shipped right away?? not so much. I have an order for ammo and it has not moved (ordered 2/4 and it's still pending)

That's okay... I would just like to be able to order it.

I wonder if they process all the ammo orders that came in with rifle orders first? Then eStore orders?

I've got a DBU of 2/6 and still waiting for estore hit also. We should be the same place in the queue.

After sending the order off, I started feeling I went overboard ordering both. Now that they are showing sold out I'm very glad that I did, and hope I got in under the wire.

Is reloading the estore page 9 times a day a symptom of OCD?

If 9 times a day is OCD I wonder what I have? My DBU was on 2/1 and I have nothing yet

You may want to follow up. See below 2/2 DBU filled a week ago? So much for in the order rec'd. Maybe b/c field grade easier to pick? That's why I was hopeful my 2/7 DBU would hit this week, but sadly, no.

I'm not worried about the delay in shipping my rifle right now (1) because my credit card hit was for other items on the ticket--I see they did not charge for my FG; and (2) because:

looks like no more service grade garands for a long time...

LIMITED INVENTORY AT CMP STORES
(March 2013):

RIFLES: The CMP currently has over 12,000 unfilled orders for rifles, ammo and other items. We also still have thousands of M1 Garands. These rifles all require inspection and repair and grading before being put up for sale. At times the customer demand exceeds the amount that our staff can make ready for sale. AMMO: The CMP does not have any caliber .223, .22LR, or .30 carbine ammo for sale at either store. We are sold out and expect to receive shipments of these calibers in 3-6 months. We continue to accept orders for these calibers and will fill those orders when we receive the replenishment shipments from the manufacturers. We do have caliber .30-06 ammo at both stores, but a 10 can purchase limit per year per customer applies. We also still have the Atomic caliber .308, but expect to run out in the next 60 days.

Hi all, I am sending in my order today and when the notary signed my paperwork she did not stamp the CMP form, she gave me an acknowldgement form and stamped it. Will this fly with the CMP?

Probably not, without the stamp there is no proof that is the form that was actually notarized.

Thanks for the reply, I read that in CA the stamp can't touch any printed lines or words on the form so I think she was trying to avoid doing that. Luckily I haven't mailed it yet. I will have her stamp the form.

My notary also did not stamp the form, just gave me a 2-page statement to add to the packet. CMP processed my order and shipped my rifles anyway. My "feel" is the CMP are not a bunch of nit-pickers in this regard. They seem happy to accept notarization as notaries give it, take HSC's for shooting training, take e-mail acknowledgement of signing up for an affiliated club as proof of membership, etc. It's sad that we live in times where people find it hard to believe they won't get dinged for good-faith dealings with somebody like CMP.

LIMITED INVENTORY AT CMP STORES
Re-read that more carefully, and you'll see that the SG issue is at the physical stores. Mail-orders are still being accepted; there's just a delay while demand exceeds supply of INSPECTED, REPAIRED, and GRADED rifles. They still have crates and crates of rifles to process.
