West Point '05 Class Pistol & Series 70 Mark IV
Hi there, my never fired class pistol from the Point, that I bought new in 2005 and had shipped directly to an FFL in Pleasant Hill (off Contra Costa Blvd behind the restaurant supply store) back in the day when they were still on the roster. It's crazy how times have changed. I knew nothing of the process here in CA and thought it was scam that I had to pay the FFL $50 to receive it, lol. Sat at my dad's house in the case during my time in the Army.
Idiot mark is from me as it is the first 1911 I learned how to take it apart. Only thing I don't have is the plastic bag it was wrapped in, I live near the beach now so I figure I get it out of there and in a safe with a dehumidifier. That Mr. Gunsgear guy on Youtube even reviews this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgiWvySKJ-0&t=66s My '05 class wants to do another run of these and a really nice Ruger Revolver that they offered back then (I sadly did not purchase the Ruger), however, it sucks for us grads in CA now (except the law enforcement ones) are unable to purchase anymore new Colts. The guy at Turners in Modesto suggested I try to get a blank non-roll marked slide and send that in when/if we do a second run? The class of '03 just did a a sweet Henry Lever Action rifle though which may be a better idea. Second Colt is a Mark IV Series 70 that I bought from a Calgunner last year. His uncle bought brand new and had less than 300 rounds through it. Last edited by Househusband69; 04-04-2022 at 7:00 PM.. |
