If you're a man, then you can most likely work one of these on the first try. Just sayin.

Are you stealing the gas or scavenging the gas.

Around here the crooks have just cut the filler neck hose and slipped a hose in. On occasion they take a 3/4 inch hole saw on a hand drill and just cut a hole in the plastic tank and use a catch basin.

Screwdriver and a hammer.

Seriously though, this immediately made me think of Duck Dynasty episode when they went to the lake house and had to siphon gas for the PWCs. So funny.

I use this to transfer gas often. Simple, cheap, and effective. However some modern cars have block that don’t allow a tube to be dropped in.

I made powered xfer pumps from new self priming fuel pumps, 1/4" fuel hose/clamps and copper tubing (bendable) for fridge repairs. (comes in coils)
Put a dead man switch+fusible link on it and cig lighter adapters for power. (car batt clamp add on for direct connections sans working cig power)
This puts some gitty up in the whole process. Runs off of my portable jump box too.
Spent ~$30 total
I can get fuel out of a 55 gal. drum or a portable whatever du jour.
I made a separate one for diesel.
I"ve used the shaker hose and bulb primed type for off road and are good for most xfers sans 12v.

Is it just me or does the gas taste/smell worse now then the the old leaded super?

siphon fuel with you mouth and a long CLEAR plastic hose. BLOW air through the hose first and listen for bubbles. This will clear out the gas fumes and tell you are actually in the fuel.

Sure some of those other devices work but learn to do it the old fashion way, its a useful skill.

I'm thinking you are talking about a true hand drill as anything with carbon brushes is asking for the Darwin award.

If needed I just use an old boat gas hose with primer bulb. Not very fast though as it's a small hose diameter. A few pumps and the syphon is started!

Yep, the one a customer brought in was a brace and bit with a shield on the bit to keep the gas off the thief.

Put a loop in the hose. It primes quickly and gives you time to get your mouth off and the end of the hose to the container in time to not spill.

Sounds like non of you know how to siphon.
Put hose in tank.
Place rag around hose and seal gas tank fill neck with it.
Blow into hose. If you hear bubbling, you're golden.
Release hose and poor gas into can.
As soon as siphoning starts, remove rag quickly before a suction occurs in the tank.
Now go out there and make baby daddy proud.

If you don't like that taste of gasoline or diesel check out this one minute video on the "two hose method".

(In the video he uses a compressor air compressor but you could also just blow into the second tube with your mouth. he also uses a rag but I think you could also use a plastic bag.)

https://youtu.be/l-EvHaQGXGA

I Believe this system will work with the most of those new type of gas tank neck blocks IF you can get the siphon primary hose into the gas.

I used a spray bottle sprayer top, short length of stiff hose, and fish tank air hose.

Insert the hose into the tank (props the fuel flapper open). Feed the air hose/tubing through the larger hose and connect to the tube of the sprayer. Feed the tube into the gas tank until it hits the bottom. Start squeezing the sprayer until fuel sprays out.

Option: Pinch the hose, remove the sprayer, stick the hose into a fuel can and let the siphoning action do it's thing.

Siphon only using your mouth to pull the air, don’t use your lungs! I’ve seen numerous ppl inhale gasoline, bad deal!

Gas in your mouth tastes bad but way better than in the lungs
