Iím in the military and at least 50% of the mags we use are from brownells the others are a mix of some random companyís. Now switching over to pmags but anyways is they are like ten bucks from brownells and those are the real deal. Also you donít want used magazines from us as the feed lips get destroyed and they donít feed for crap. My branch of service doesnít exactly have funds to replace them very often though.

Good question! used to buy them by the bundle for $5 each at the Great Western gun show. Here are some current production GI pattern aluminum mags:

Ok well I can get you some used ones if you want (then they can be called usgi lol) but like I said the Usgi contracts are just fulfilled by random companies. Most are not good.

Are they considered USGI mags if they have a cage code?

Arms unlimited has 20 round and 30 round USGI mags. Kind of expensive but
They have be on sale in the past for $12 each (20 rounders).

Best GI mag. Find some D&H (formerly LaBelle). Teflon coated inside & out. Smooth action.

These. D&H mags in general are awesome, but the teflon ones are fantastic!

PA gun shows?

I have a .50 saw box full of 'em for range mags. And there's a guy at every gun show, JUST back from Ft. Bragg, with a table FULL of 'em - still sandy and covered in duct tape - getting $8 a piece for 'em (and he probably gave a buck a piece for 'em).

And here in America, they hold 30 rds.!

These go on sale at Palmetto State Armory for $7. I think the last time I saw them, they were $69 for 10. Sometimes, they also are bundled with ammo.

I tend to prefer Okay mags over D&H, but both work well.

To clarify, D&H is not USGI. Brownells, Colt, NHMTG and Okay are/were issued. Current USGI is Pmag for all intents and purposes. Okay can be bought for $9-10 each and are probably the most available of the old aluminum mags.
