Wow! This is amazing! I wish I would have seen this before I paid 160 to have two 80% milled. I will definitely pass this along. Thanks for doing what your doing Sir!!! I may order more just to pass through.

How much do you charge for your AR10 80% lowers? (for myself & to pass on to others)

Great place to finish your 80% lowers. Ray is a great asset to this community, very meticulous and detailed minded. It was well worth the drive last night for our appointment. Ray gave us great guidance and instruction so we could complete our lowers. He even endured our off color sense of humor and stayed late with us while his wife was under the weather. Thanks again Ray and next time I will wear the appropriate protective shoes and not my trademark Teva sandals. See you soon in a few weeks for the next group.

I don't understand... I did read the thread from the start. It says he offers his services for a tip. However, he also states "Anodized DPms style billet ar10 80% lowers. If you need a lower I have billets in stock and already anodized. so lets get your project started" I meant to ask how much he charges for the AR10 80% lowers? Did I miss it where it says the price for them???

To tip less than what the standard cost used to be isn't right. he has a lot of very expensive equipment. and needs to cover his cost on wear and tear. I did two at his place and tipped $160.

^^^This. If people don't tip him for use of his tools and expertise help, this won't be lasting long. He has bills to pay too. Where do you think that mill came from? The electricity bill to run that machine and wear and tear on consumables for the machine. I know a few machine shop owners that were considering this but they aren't going to take the risk of having a bunch of joe schmoes come in and waste their time and allow tool use for absolutely no compensation. I know I sure wouldn't, they're taking the risk of having the ATF harass them or worse, all for an unknown amount of compensation or none at all. I just hope the Calgunners on here that use his services are decent enough to at least leave a little something to cover his expenses.

Baddest *** dude in California. My buddy and I milled out 4 80%'s in just over an hour. Ray knows everything about this stuff and will show you how to do whatever it is you may be unfamiliar with. Even if you're in SoCal, make the drive. Worth every single penny!

Back to the top for a standup calgunner !

My friend got the appt, but I called last minute to join in. He was great. Free CNC milling with all the help and expertise. I did all the work.

I would tip him for use and thanks. Also brought along some goodies for his family.

Props to upstanding fun guy !

Thinking outside the box here. Maybe you should try it texting him again or send him a PM.

I'm sure he'll contact when he's able to, he's probably got other things on his plate at the moment. The wait will be well worth it

I made the 1.5hr drive out there today and waited my turn as I was early and there was a gentleman just finishing the final touches on his. Ray helped right away and taught me a a few things about CNC milling. I will say that I need a few more lessons but the lesson plan today was outstanding.

I am very pleased with the final product and aside from just good work Ray is an outstanding human being. I will without a doubt be returning for more lessons. Thanks Ray

Couple questions. So with the CNC do you just pop in the 80% and just press GO pretty much? Also do you guys think I should pick up an anodized lower or non? What do you guys do for the finish after it's milled?

after the cnc you drill out the hammer trigger pin holes and the selector switch hole via drill press.

if you plan to get it anodized after, there's no point in getting an anodized 80%.
