This guy shoots pests and non native species at 100-175 yards...

Lots of gear reviews

And 200 yards with a pellet gun is as cheap to shoot as 1,500 meters with a rifle.......

What kind of air rifle do you have that can shoot 250 yards? I mean, I had a Beeman for a long time that was powerful, but it's max effective range was maybe 40 - 50 yards, maybe a hundred if I you're just shooting paper and holding over quite a bit. Just not enough weight to a pellet to sustain velocity.

For an air rifle I would think that any 3 - 9X would be more than sufficient. I have a Simmons .22 Mag 4x on my Marlin 795 .22 lr. It's plenty good for a .22. If you want better quality than a Simmons (admittedly fairly crappy), look at a Nikon Prostaff, Refield, or maybe a Vortex Diamondback. Cabelas has some decent scopes for reasonable prices too.

4-16x44 UTG Compact Tactical scope w/side AO, SCP-UM416AOIEW, $108 on Amzn, order MNT-DT2PW01 dovetail to Picatinny adaptor with it so you can use the rings that come with the scope, and a side wheel for the AO focus.
that's what is on these guns
Texan and HW100 have UTG 4-6x44
MRod has a center point on it in the picture, I changed it to a UTG now.

that's what is on the Airforce Texan in my Avitar.
Holy Moly! Just looked up the Texan and it's badass. 500 ft/lbs of energy. Air rifles sure have come a long way.

my Texan is a nice gun, has lots of power and accurate too, I can shoot more than 6 different types of projectiles out of it, but roundballs are the cheapest and most accurate.

there are bigger and more powerful Air guns out here than the Texan, the Texan was in my budget range, but I would love to have an Extreme Big Bore Airguns 50 cal or any of their guns........

I happen to have mounted a Burris Verocity on a 25 caliber. Works very well, although I'm not going to 250 yards, around 150 max for me.
Scope is a FFP, 3 x 16 x 50, exceptional glass, very bright, side parallax focus, has good reticle as well. FFP means that there is no figuring out what happens at different powers, POA stays the same no matter what power.
BKL double strap mounts.
Entire set up costs in the $650 neighborhood.

I have a Invoairtech Mac 35 its a 357 cal ,looks like a Barrett ,I have a 4-16x50. Sunoptics scope with the picatini rail the gun is 56 in long with a 24 in barrell, dead nuts gun at 100 yards with 105 grain bullets but I may need to go to a lighter bullet or a better scope to get my 150 -200 yrd range I'm looking for
its 4500 lbs pressure with a cartrige that looks like a 50 cal ,great gun , I'm looking to get an Airforce Texan as I think they have the distance I'm looking for

OP, I don't know about trajectories with the pcp's in the large bore calibers, but I assume it would be pretty extreme at the ranges you are talking about. Check specs on scopes you are looking at to make sure they have enough total elevation adjustment to account for the trajectory. Another way to increase range on your existing scope is a drooper mount or moa rail to gain added elevation. I have a Nikon Buckmasters 6-18x 40 that has a total of 80 moa elevation adjustment mounted on my .22lr squirrel shooter. 1/8 moa per click. Most scopes will give you between 40-60 moa total elv adjustment in 1/4 per click.

200 yards with a BB gun sounds like you already spent a grand.

the adjustable scope mount sounds like a good Idea, I don't have one but I have seen videos of a Texan .45 shooting 500 yards using one, the other thing is can you use Helium in the cartridge, it will increase the FPS at the same pressure as Air since it has tighter molecules, Bigboreairguns.com uses Helium a lot in their guns,

M1NM, a Grand is about right, but these are not your Pappy's BB guns , and they are sent right to your door, never heard of a BB gun putting hole in a car...... but these are some big BB's....
here's some pic's

SWFA scopes will work well for 200 yards on an air rifle. I like their mil quad reticle, and use it for 200 meters on a .22lr in a 16x magnification. Great for the purpose. They will hold up to a springer recoil as well.
