With revolvers, the weak thumb is placed in front of the hammer, the strong thumb is on the hammer and as soon as the sear releases, the trigger is released too, so there is the weak thumb AND the internal safety that both prevent revolver from firing. 1911 has a half-cock that cannot be passed if trigger is released and the gun cannot fire from the half-cock even if the sear broke, so the "thumb in front of hammer" is a safe way to decock. On the other hand, I completely agree that it's an unnecessary step and that 1911 is intended to be carried in condition 1 (as a side issue, the half-cock is one of the important features that makes "condition 1 carry" of a 1911 safe.)

That is great stuff. I am still laughing.
Do you get red skull stickers for each time you use the gun? Nice. Last edited by orangeusa; 02-29-2016 at 11:39 AM.. |

Yeah.
I think it's paint but never tried to pull it off, heh. They all have the logo on them in various colors. http://www.greenforcetactical.com/ I love that old Model 28 revolver. I just put it in the holster for the pic though. There's a snap on it I need to fix. |

It doesn't matter - other than to the tighty-whitey, by-the-book," no jaywalking crowd, who'd rather follow the rules and take whatever some gun-toting cretin does to them or to their families than lose their 2A rights in this state. Many are here on this site. Some "otherwise" law-abiding citizens, however, value their lives more than restrictive laws, and take whatever steps are necessary to ensure their safety - and that of their kids/wives, etc., and will therefore carry without a CCW. I started carrying back as teen, after I was held up at gunpoint, twice. Once I separated from the Corps I began carrying again - everywhere, before CCW was even a possibility in most of this state.

What's up with that guy's question from CUBA anyway?
There was another identical post today that I received a notification for that got deleted. User doesn't appear to exist. Same question and had a weird link in it: huda.siahaan has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Show me your holstered pistol! - in the California handguns forum of Calguns.net. This thread is located at: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...7&goto=newpost Here is the message that has just been posted: *************** how many of you actually have ccw's? Why is that? My LCR has it and I like it.

Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some. The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000. |

I walked into a local gun store that I have done business with in the past and spotted it sitting on the desk behind the counter. I had to talk the owner into letting me look at it because he was planning on keeping it for his own collection.
I kept looking at it trying to talk myself out of getting it, but when would I ever see another one as complete as this one? Fifteen minutes later I walked out with it quite a bit poorer but I have zero regrets. |

I almost forgot this one. One of my West German P226's in a holster I got off of ebay for ten bucks including shipping. I don't know who made it, but I like the heck out of it and it is my EDC in the winter.

So you're saying it is worth it (for you) to loose your rights if caught? honest question.

I was under the impression that it is a wobler and can loose for 10 years?

And let's assume that one is able to lower the trigger without discharging the weapon. Now you've got the hammer down on top of a live round. What happens if the weapon is dropped?
