I've left stuff there before and came back a month later and it was still there. If not, I'm sure you already told Sammy so his partner, Joe, will put it somewhere safe. Joe's out there all the time.

Not gonna happen, man. You'd have to find a crew willing to setup the day before on a weekday and on match day, have enough folks willing to take off work to shoot.

Great match Sam!
It was probably the most "fun" one I've been to out there. 1) REALLY liked the double clay thrower. It had the oomph to get the clays high enough to have a chance at both. 2) REALLY liked Jungle Run - even though we didn't have a 1/4 mile run, there were many ways to attack the stage. I like having different ways to shoot a stage based on "figuring out" what works based on person skills (or lack thereof). 3) No shoot steel on shotgun stages - do it again! Makes you think instead of just hosing the targets.

Hey there! I've recently taken an interest in coming out soon, but before I do I want to ask a couple questions. First off, I understand that you run a town round division. Does this division allow for an optic on the rifle? Also, I've come to notice most who participate use belt rigs nearly exclusively. I'm not keen on keeping a lot on my belt and thought about using a vest to carry magazines for rifle stages. Aside from the sake of comfort, I'm limited to ten round magazines. So in order to compete with those using a single 30 round pre-ban, I'd have to carry three magazines. Would running the vest get me laughed off the course, or would it be perceived as "run what you bring?"
Thanks for helping the FNG! |

I run a vest once in a great while. Piru is hot. Take that into consideration.
Most of the guys that I shoot with that shoot Cali Legal with a bullet button use drop downs to carry their mags. http://www.lapolicegear.com/blackhaw...-platform.html http://3gungear.corecommerce.com/Car...rrier-p25.html |

My rookie buddies and I (about 4 of us) make up the CA 10rd divsion - the only ones doing it in the last few months. http://www.uspsa.org/rules/ - See Tact-Optics and add: 10 round mags, bullet button tool |

Also, I wouldn't be running around with sixty pounds of gear. Just magazines, water, and maybe shotgun shells depending on the stage.

Ah, that's where I was mostly confused. Since I can't put a BB on the rifle, I'll just have to really practice my reloads. Thanks for all the help.

As for carrying water.. no need for that. At stages 1-3 you're usually 10 yards from your vehicle. Stage 4, 50 yards. Stage 5 and 6, 100 yards or less. Or you can cart/wagon up if needed. See the stage diagrams on http://x3multigun.com/ and you can determine how much ammo you need at each stage, thus how many mags and shotgun holders, and the overall amount you need per event. I would say at most for any 1 gun stage is 50 rds handgun, 30 rounds shotgun, or 40-50 rifle. And if it's a 2 or 3 gun stage, then those are divided up accordingly. |

Guys,
Thanks for coming out and playing, the weather was nice and the stages were fast. Those of you who didn't make it out...... there's always next month. I know I said in the shooters meeting that next month was going to be a match that was hard as hell, but, I'm thinking not. It's August next month. I'll save the tough stuff for when the weather cools off a bit. So you guys get another easy match next moth. Again always open for CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. The scores are posted below and will be on the website later today. x3multigun.com .

Guys,
Sorry for the delay in updates, my desktop is down and I'm having to do everything off my phone. The stages will be up on the website this evening. http://x3multigun.com You will need about 150 rifle, 150 pistol, 100 birdshot, 20 slugs and a few buckshot (maybe) If I can get the stages on Cal Guns later I'll do it. The weather looks like it is going to be in the high 80's so remember to bring plenty of water and something to eat. I hope to see you all on Sunday.

Hey everyone, another first timer (to be) here. Really interested in starting 3 gun competitions and I was wondering if it would be weird to attend a meet without playing? I just wanted an opportunity to talk to some of the participants and get some info on gear, rules, opinions, etc. I have a pistol but I need to purchase a shotgun and rifle. It'd be nice to get some more insight on the sport prior to making these big purchases. Looking forward to hearing from you guys and hopefully meeting up for next months meet.
Thanks! |

Well the good news is that the scores are done. Bad news is I can't post them. Still working off my phone, Dennis said he will have them up later tonight.
The match was difficult, but I enjoyed it I hope you all did as well. If you didn't write me a stage and I will gladly set it up for the next match and put your name on it. I would like to hear your thoughts on it. More people spun the spinners this time, soon it will be no big deal to do it and everyone will gain from the experience. Thanks for coming out to play and I look forward to seeing you all again next month

More shotgun please
Sam,
For this Sunday's (Sept. 15) 3-Gun can we have at least 2 all-shotgun stages? 3 would be a nice or 2 other stages with a shotgun combo. The more shotgun the merrier 2 weeks before the all-shotgun shoot. Get us warmed up. Thanks Sam. |

Hello Boys!
Are you ready for this? It looks to be a great match, I've almost got the stages done and I like them. Some are tough and some are just a lot of shooting. You will need a sling this month. Spread the word to your buddies, if you don't have one I'm sure someone will lend you one. So far you only need 4 slug, no more no less. 100 birdshot 100 pistol 150 rifle As always depending on how well you shoot. It is going to be warm this weekend. Bring plenty of water, drinks and snacks. Leave your steel core ammo and armor piercing stuff at home if I catch you with it you will not be allowed back. I will post the stages as soon as I have them finished. See you Sunday Stages added. .

Hi Guys,
General question, what are the distances on the rifle targets typically set at? I currently only have iron sights and am thinking about a red dot in the near future, but haven't thought about magnification. If its 100 yards and closer, no problem. 200 yards and out gets a little tricky for me just using iron sights. Thank you in advance for your reply. |

Don't let the long range targets stop you from coming out and trying the sport. I'll tell you a little secret - you probably won't win your first match. Take a few shots on the longer range targets, take the penalty and move on. In many cases it's better for your score (and your wallet) to do that than to spend 45+ sec dumping a mag at a 400 yd target that you may or may not even hit.
