Use Weldonhunter's alternate deal from Freedom a few posts above your's. Only ~$8 more per 1k rounds reloaded 9mm.

They did take a week to ship with a reminder email from me but I now have the tracking number. Shipped from Washington state.

Warning to all cancelling orders, check your credit card statement for the refund.

I cancelled my order 4 business days ago and have yet to see a return on my card; emailed them today on this.

It will be 5 buisness days for me tomorrow, I dont think they have control over how fast the refund gets back onto your card.

They don't. It can take up to a week before it appears either on the credit card account. I've had to do credit card refunds and unfortunately it's not as instantaneous as that original charge

I know this from some of the many times I had to have Cheaper Than Dirt refund money to me. They charged me instantly but it took more than a week sometimes to get a refund and it was my mostly bank that did it. CTD had to get it through their system but then the bank added to the wait. Ah the computer age of electronics.

Post Another reply from Jack Ross Ammunition

OK, I ordered on 2/9, several hours before their site had the message they weren't taking any orders. I knew going in, it would take about 3-4 weeks and they would charge my CC immediately. However, I didn't know the status of my order due to the post on their site stating they were no longer taking orders (again, put up several hours after I ordered).

I called on three occasions, and left messages stating "I just want to insure my order got through, and what is the outlook for the order being shipped. I'm not in a huge hurry, I'd just like to know how much ammo to order from another vendor."

So yesterday, I sent them a note asking for a reply to the very same question. Here's their response.

Quote:
We are currently processing orders from Jan 20th and are working forward. Last Tuesday a much needed new machine arrived to help us with this severe back log we have. We apologize for your wait and appreciate your business. If you would like to cancel please let me know ill completely understand. However if you can wait you will not be dissappointed in our product and we promise to try to improve in our customer service. Currently we do not employ someone to work the front desk and all employees are too busy on the floor.
Thank you for your time
Jamie Parker
p.s We orignally hoped to clear up everything by now but have had some issues with our own machines. We only put out the best product so it has been very hard to catch up. This is the owners wife. I have taken th job of answering emails to try to help out. I do understand the need for someone to work th phones too but cant swing that right now. I hope my email helps you out.
Does this seem they are falling further behind each day, as a week or so ago they were fulfilling orders for 1/19!

Man, I wish I could run my business like this!

by my estimation, with all the money they've collected "up front," they could hire a couple of folks to answer inquiries and refunds.

Their lack of response, and/or lack of addressing the question asked, is disturbing. It creates a trust issue, and that is NOT good for any business.

I am empathetic to their being overloaded, and with that said, I'm in disagreement with their business practices. As stated previously, I knew there'd be the wait and the up-front charge to the CC. JRA's total disregard for customer care WILL cost them in the end. This exercise of offering a great deal to promote business is a great idea, and not thinking it through is a bad thing.

I "think" if JRA communicated the delays and such to their customers, it would go a long way in getting them out of this costly jam they appear to be in.

In the meantime, FreedomMunitions and the like are capitalizing on JRA's mistake and making lots of happy new clients.

Too bad! :-/

I'm not sure if the new machine is for 9mm only or for all calibers but this thread has been a general Jack Ross thread and not just JR 9mm reloaded.

Some of the dates given were in response to .40 and .45 orders, which may have independent production lines.

I did get a response after I cancelled when I asked about the status of my refund. I used a card from Citi, which is very slow in posting transactions, so I just wanted to check if he did his part. He responded within a day or two saying he did process the refund and that others were mentioning a 7 day wait to see it in their cc accounts.

My order from Freedom shipped earlier this week but just FYI (in case you need something by a certain date), that was a week after my order and I sent them an email. No response to the email but my order shipped a day later. They did delay charging until the order shipped.

These are good deals but after a few thousand rounds, I'm thinking of going .22 to slow the cash flow

Oh you guys need to get over that. Do you know what a pain it is to accept the charge, then go back and charge the card once the order is ready? Try owning a business and you will see. Then factor in most companies make 5-10% on your order. So, he makes $10 and you want him to do what?

It's a good deal, get over it....

Vent over...

Yup, I do know the pain, and I'm not complaining about the up-front charge, just the lack of effective communication.

I hear you. If I have something out of stock, I call the customer right away. Time and time again, the customer is blown away I called. It actually saves the sale every time.

Reverse side is, do you want him making calls or making ammo? lol. It's tough right now in this industry. If anyone is really upset. Send an email, give him "x" to reply, then file a charge back. No need to keep throwing salt at the wound.

No, before its asked. I don't know him nor have ever bought from him. Just trying to show another angle.

Maybe someone who knows him can have him do a quick post and explain a few things to keep the lynch mob happy Might not be a bad idea.

Okay, I would like to know if it is better to wait 5-6 weeks or more for JRA's ammo or go to Freedom. I tried Freedom a few weeks ago and my G19 Gen 4 did not like it but the G17 RTF2 did and so did my XDM 5.25 So I am kind of torn between waiting 1.5 mos or getting ammo that my 19 (primary pistol) will not like. I do not have the new ejector on my Gen 4, but I do have the new recoil spring setup. I tried about 50 rounds of it through the 19, and 50 through the XDM. The 19 would fail to feed / double feed and or stove pipe. I reload somewhat weak loads just for plinking but I also use jhp's so I am not sure if that is the difference or not. All I know is that I could not get the 19 to shoot at a good rate of fire with the Freedom stuff, but with my reloads it would shoot and I was able to shoot it faster. I have been shooting Glock's since 1993 and therefore I know how to shoot them,I was not limp wristing.

If I have to I will make a new thread in the Ammo section as to get better feedback, so if anyone has tried JRA and can vouch for it feeding fine besides the Sig that blew up please let me know. Thanks!

If you have a gun that's having a problem with Freedoms ammo you should call them and tell them what it's doing. Call this number 713-816-3929. You'll probably get Rudy, one of the owners and tell him what's happening.

I order the JR ammo - 1000 rounds of 9mm reload -- around Christmas. I recevied the ammo at the end of January. I spoke a few times with Chris when I placed my order and then when I had my brother pick it up in Reno.

Last weekend was the first time I used the JR ammo. No problems whatsoever and I'll be ordering more, knowing that it will take 6-8 weeks or so to receive it. For the price and quality, you can't beat JR.

45 days since order. 12 days since the drama. Still waiting (im)-patiently for my ammo. =)

I wonder if my order would have gotten processed faster if I had ordered the 3 calibers separately?

I'm debating placing another order soon so that I can receive it by May or June. (If a partial shipment of my order had been sent, I would have already had a chance to try it to make up my decision)!! =)

They processed the refund for my two orders on March 7th, still no money back on my CC. Going to contact them again to see what's up.

I've gone through almost 2000 rounds of 9mm from freedom with another 2000 rounds to go. Good thing for them or I'd be stuck with my local walmart that has no ammo!

Once JR gets caught up to real time shipping I will probably order from him.

Why would you order from some one that doesn't deliver to your needs?

I'm hoping that he gets his act together so I can take advantage of the good price and free shipping. If the service doesn't improve, then I won't order.

yes jr has a good price. means nothing when they cant ship the product. ive bought 9mm reloads from surefire manufac. not 1 issue and they ship fast and only sell what they have available. they r at all the gun shows every 3 months. if they run out at show they ship 4 free. im tryn to work out a group buy from them. jus making sure the price is good and they will b able to meet the demands. they carry most pistol cal. and .223 ,.30 carbine

Which shipping company does JR use? Do you receive a tracking number via email?

Their web site say they are now taking orders for mid April/May. Sounds like it's a 6-8 week wait.

This seems like a good deal, but I think I'll hold off until they are caught up.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather they get caught up with the current orders and not take "pre-orders" for future shipments. I understand they have to keep making money for their bills, but if I were in their situation I'd have handled it differently. Seems to be that they'll never really be caught up with their orders if people keep ordering.

Definitely not saying JR is bad as I haven't had experience with them, but I hope to in the future if they ever have enough supply to cover demand.

According to their facebook page orders from the end of Jan/beg. of Feb have shipped or will be shipping soon.

It seems as though they only make ammo for web orders on certain days, not everyday. I assume the rest of the time is spent loading ammo for commercial orders (ranges) and filling the Nevada state contract that they have, just my guess as to why web orders seem to go out in 'batches' and not going out everyday.

Thanks for the update!

Anyone else have any orders that JR recently shipped out?

Looks like I need to wait at least another week for my Feb 3rd order to ship.
