Default worth it?

Anyone have experience with this scope? Im thinking of getting it for my 10/22, and possibly using on an AR at times. Will be just for target/plinking use. For the price, is it worth it?

Thanks for any input

Yes but is has more power than I would use on either rifle.

I beg you in the name of all that is holy to never spend less than $300 on a scope.

Plan on this scope never repeating it's settings and zero wondering around a bit.

Save your money and buy more quality.

I have to agree with them too, save your $150 save a little longer and buy something that offers more quality, because when it comes to optics you really get what you pay for, if you spend $150 now you may have to spend another $150 llater, may as well spend the $300 now and get your $$$ worth

For my 22 I picked this up. Over on rimfire central people swear by them.

I have only used it once, but it seems like a great scope for the 22.

I run higher quality glass on my AR.

I never knew $300 was the minimum for a scope, especially on a .22. I wouldn't use this on an AR, but for your 10/22 it will be more than enough.

Wow, to spend $300 or more on scope for 10/22 ? The gun itself cost less than that

Ironically I hunt with my rifles which includes falling off my shoulder, sliding down hills on accident, and sometimes dropping them yet don't have that problem with the Nikons, Burris, and Leupolds that I have all bought at considerably less than your price point. Perhaps you and your brethern below are both in theater shooting at Taliban but if you just punch paper keep your bench rest opinions amongst your fan boys. You see that Mule deer in my avatar? That was a sub $300 leupold that slid down a rockslide with me on that hunt prior to "holding zero" before I shot that deer.

It really is. The "spend as much on your scope as your rifle" logic was good in the 80's when I first heard it, now it's just stupid.

How much a person spends is entirely dependent on what the intended use is for. I roll through this forum periodically b/c of the horrific advice given out such as a deer rifle needs to be a 6x18x50 and other asinine things people have stated in here before as if it were fact.

For the OP. I would go with the 2nd scope (3x9x40). I had one of those white tails before and it's fine up to about 18x and then it gets real blurry. For paper punching at short ranges (200 yards) you don't need that much magnification.

^^^^ I am with you except that I will only use a Leupold on a hunting rifle/pistol.
I have spent more for the scope than the rifle. The rifle was free or under $100

Guns are cheap. Good glass isn't.
