Default Is there any difference?

Is there any significant difference from a 6.5 dia. hole to a 30cal. hole on the Area 419 muzzle brakes? As far as using a 30cal. hole on a 6.5 Creedmoor? I know that it will work but not sure if there would be much if any performance difference? Any thoughts or sites that have done this testing? Thanks

about .040 i believe...308+ .040-.050 .264+ .040-.050 but a lotta guys run 30cal brakes on 6.5 barrels and i really doubt there is enough difference in felt recoil to notice...i used a 30cal recoil eliminator on a 260 for a long time before i bought a 6.5 brake.

Iíve shot a lot of different brakes and IMO the area 419 and the jp enterprise recoil eliminator are the 2 best on the market and I judge a brake more on its ability to stay on target first and recoil reduction second....these two do both better than any brake Iíve shot.

Noticeably better than APA?

Worth the $170 to switch?

Well I'll see how well it preforms on my 6.5 Creedmoor soon. I ordered one from Brownells today for a total of $148.50 with free shipping. Area 419 black nitrated

in my opinion yes...like i said i dont think theres a huge difference in felt recoil between any of the higher end brakes the difference is tracking...if your staying on target without having to work at it then you may want to save your money but if you find yourself off target more often then not then yes its worth it.

the JP recoil eliminator brake is IMO the most effective brake made but its ugly, loud and everyone you shoot with is going to cry because all the gas blows straight out the sides.

Thanks - the rifle I use on matches not much of an issue tracking with the APA as long as I am behind it.

But a am thinking of building a lighter 6.5 for hunting.. I have an extra APA but always interested.

I put a K-P Clamshell at 0.540 on my 375/50 BMG and it shoots like a *****cat with 0.075+ per side of clearance.
The JP Recoil Eliminators work very well but as Longrange1 said the shooters on both sides of you won't like you.

Yep I've seen one or two at the range before. I was just thinking of something a little more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. That's kinda like me with an afro, not to easy on the eyes. Ha Ha No offense.
