Default Need help buying new gun

Ok guys I've been rattling my head figuring out how to spend my money. Few weeks ago my heart was set on a eotech exps2 than I decided I could have a new gun for what a sight cost so got me thinking a ar15 look a like 22 would be awesome. What do you guys think is better value the 15-22 or buying a cmmg dedicated upper and building a lower receiver. I do already have a ar-15 but I already know if I buy a upper ill buy a lower anyways. So what's some pros and cons of the two. I talked to my dealer and out the door the mp15-22 moe is 589 and the cmmg after I build it will probably be a hair over 6.

When I was thinking about this delima, I decided upon the S&W M&P 15-22 and am very happy.

If you've got an AR, the dedicated upper is the way to go. I bought a Colt/Umarex M4 when they first came out. Big mistake. Not only did I pay too much but I didn't really get the AR clone in .22 rimfire I was looking for.

I bought a conversion unit for my AR but finally bought a dedicated .22 upper. It may cost a little more money than one of the "tacticool" .22 rifles, but I still think you're better off. I haven't built a dedicated lower for the .22, but I bought a multi-cal lower and will put it together when I find the time.
