I'm in both group buys, 6 grips total. If the first batch is only 40 grips it will be a L-O-N-G time before everyone gets their grips.

This is what I've gotten from the scanner today "Yes, scanning is done.. I need to post process the data to get you a watertight STL... be done by early next week." Then it's getting shipped directly to my buddy with the printer.

How strong will the mag catch be? You know that little plastic "stick?" cause mine sucks.

Mr. Said it wasn't to print, they were undersized. The plastic shrank too much. These will be to print, maybe a little thicker to help if it needs it. Mr doesn't think they need to be oversize, they just need to be the correct size.

Update: "The mold has been fixed and a quantity of 500 have been received (see Figure 1). Unfortunately, a material issue surfaced with this shipment in QC. Fortunately, it is a relatively simple and minor issue to fix."

http://aresarmor.com/store/media/eco...Ares-Armor.jpg

New grips *passing QC* are expected by the end of this week.

If its a "minor issue to fix" then just give them to us.

One positive thing, take a look at the button side of the magazine release hole, looks like indented so mightnot need extended release now? (or maybe the standard length will at least be useable)

The QC issue is probably that the grips decompose when in contact with human skin.

From the email I got today 10/22/13 from ares apparently they are still waiting on grips and have some issues to deal with from the manufacture. Don't how how ligit that pic is. Don't expect anything anytime time soon from them but I'm still hopeful

Hey guys, so the mag release on the file is just like a regular 1911 now. That little bridge is now closed in like normal. That with the material should be more than strong enough. Oh and magwell is to print also. Good stuff eh?

Little off topic but I thought this was interesting:

Update: "All Ares Armor Build Party Slots have been closed per cease and desist letter from the BATFE."
