Maybe, maybe not...I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. If I'm wrong I will gladly shut up and not add confusion. Just saying I would be pissed if I got stuck paying $9.69 * 100+

To think I just bought a KTO frame... If my wife finds out I'm in on this buy she'll probably beat me over the head with it. Having said that. Man I can't wait

Bad news. We are being taxed. 9.69 per frame, 9.89 per jig. If its not too late, and everybody is okay with it, can we add 10 bucks to each item? If you have sent out payment, pm me.

Chinese?

Can you get some Norinco grip screw bushings for me?

I think there is actually a ban on Chinese gun parts.

Sorry to ruffle feathers.

I don't want there to be problems here.

When there is a general lack of communication from ARES (but totally understandable) and conflicting stories at the same time, it makes me nervous, especially since my check is already in the mail.

Iver Johnson is made in the philipines, by the same factory as other brands, just sold under a different name.

Im just hopeful brownells can give us a good deal. As far as tax, those who have sent payment have my info to send the remainder, and i will update the list to include tax as another category to be fulfilled. Although this is a public forum, i am going to post my phone number, and hopefully boundaries are respected. 3306320104. I will take texts anytime, although don't expect immediate responses. As far as phone calls, i can accept from 2 pm to 8 pm. I work early. Thank you all.

What????????

My understanding was $125.00 out the door, included tax! Just like in the first group buy. Never a mention of $125.00 plus tax.

Lol. Ares is probably going to eat it or not report on round 1. Good on the calgunner who brought it up.

Some of us have a California resale license. How complicated do you want to make this?

If you collect sales you had better have a California resale license. If you have a California resale license then you know the paperwork involved to selling to both the end user and another re-seller.
If you collect tax and then don't pay that tax to the state bad things will happen.

See what a can of worms you opened?

Apperently not, I'm not used to checking out the front and getting stuck in the rear... I'm used to honoring my advertised price(I'd apprecite the same from others) ... If that's how group buys go around here I guess I won't be paticapting in any after this one.

Thanks

However the topic of tax came up really does blow. But, 135 or 250? Ill take the tax blow. I can say one thing though, after this i probably won't be buying from ares anymore. Seems too unfair. Thank you guys too. I really appreciate the accomodating and great comments.

If the $250 is comparing to KTO, you need to factor in with the KTO you're also getting an integrated plunger tube, mag well and mainspring housing. While the Ares doesn't need the magwell it does need a plunger tube and MSH. So if you're comparing the two, the KTO is a better deal.

I agree with fiferronald, and MR. I was just saying basically I'll take the 135 over 259. Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've been told I have a purty mouth. Also in jersey you usually get it coming and going.

Also its a precautionary tale when purchasing a product version 1.0 of anything something I rarely do. The tax news was a bit of a bummer but I kinda saw it coming. Will I purchase again from them? Well that depends....The condition and durability of product once received, future ability to handle volume orders, questions, and flexibility in pricing etc. Also diversity of product. For instance a double stack polymer grip frame. I cant say I wouldn't try them out again if they offered this @ a reasonable price. Provided the one I receive is up to snuff, and hope this isn't a Bren ten thing. So until then I'm going to suck it up and wait til they get they're feet underneath them. Also Kto is 300 bones or frns plus s/h so I'll wait till I get get something in hand before I make comparisons.

As for me, no. Although, as of this election cycle, I'm making it my priority to minimize the monies I supply to the bloated CA. state bureaucracy.

It feels odd on how the tax came about suddenly, but I'll let that go.

Regardless of "tax", $135.00 per frame is still a deal. I need to get with the others involved with me and let them know.

One question has arisen, now that taxes are involved, receipts from Ares. Are we to get a copy of the one big sale from them or individual receipts from them? This may be a small, niggling detail, never the less, necessary.

To address whether I'd buy from Ares again, Oh yeah! These guys are busy! cranking us out some fine products. I don't really mind minor issues like this when the deal is so sweet. As long as their product is as advertised, I'll be 110% happy.

Looking forward to build party with them.

Nothing wrong with niggling, proper word.

Dave Chappelle may not like it, but eh?

Still need to get monies from others, and let them know.
