I was going to say that; isn't the front sight just dovetailed in? So a barrel vice, brass punch and hammer?

Ditto.

Just rest the barrel on something, get a brass punch out, and tap the sight out of the dovetail. It's super easy.

I just supported the barrel on a 2x4/towl and used a punch and hammer. Just give it a good whack right off the bat, little taps don't work.

Are you changing to Tech sights? I have some and they are great, I get under 1" groups at 25m with a bone stock 10/22

The front sight is actually made to go in from and to be removed from one side. When installing sights, install from right to left. When uninstalling (removing) sights, remove from left to right.

Thought it might be directional since so many dovetails are that way. THANKS.
