Cmmg 22 bolt, need a little help
Hey guys, I just received my new evolution cmmg upper and I am having some trouble removing the bolt and charging handle. It's factory new has not been mounted or fired yet and I want to remove the bolt and do my normal lubrication etc.... I'm not a newbie and own many ar15's but seriously this bolt will not come out of the back of the receiver. It cycles perfect etc.. What am I missing here.
Thanks Bryan. |

and the other way around too, it's a tight fit going in when new, enough that you can have issues getting the rear pin back in

Just pull the bolt back and clean it that way. No need to take it apart. Now, to remove the entire BCG from the upper, simply pull backwards on it kind of hard.

I recommend grease... It says where you put it, cleans off easy, etc...

The problem is not putting it back together.
The problem is with bending the rails when you take it apart. It will never run right after that and you will never get the rails perfectly flat again. Dave N

Thanks guys I'm not taking the bolt appart. I'm more than confident with my ar15 skills but like you said these little 22's look delicate. I just anted to know all functions first before taking to the range. I thought it was strange how te bolt was so tight on that collar but that's the norm I'm told. Thanks for the advice and I can't wait to fire this little guy.

I had one once that I had to lap the sides of the rails on a piece of sandpaper on a flat surface..Worked great after that ten minute job. You do not want to remove alot from the rail sides just lap a little on both sides at a time till it goes in and out nicely.
