Default Interesting Blog: Prepared Not Scared

Very family oriented it seems to cover everything from canning to food and water storage to recipes for survival rations. I did a search and nothing came up here.

There is a huge amount of great info about becoming self sufficient on the Provident living site. I use it all the time.

You don't have to be a Mormon to buy from a cannery. Where is this cannery ?.

We even loan our canning machine to non church members.

There was a skills group heading for one in Fountain Valley a while back. I've never been to one but as I understand they are by appointment and will help you package materials in #10 cans etc.

Here is the address that was put out in the skills group.

17350 Mount Herrmann St Fountain Valley, CA 92708

Here's a link to the LDS site where you can find more info - I didn't realize they have a center in San Diego.

I would be real surprised if any LDS cannery doesn't let non church members in.

It would be the exception and there are many canneries in the state. Most canneries are run by the nicest people in the world and they don't preach to you. They are very helpful with your food storage questions.

Food at the cannery's run about 50 % of what you will pay elsewhere and that is in a can and boxed up.
