What is that "V-shape" thing on the bottom rail? I see a lot of AR15 owners have them but just couldn't figure out what is the use of it?
Thanks

Magpul angled foregrip. It's used when you decide to use their style of gripping a rifle for off-hand shooting.

Budget build. LW15 complete polymer lower with a DelTon 20" flat top with MagPul MOE handguards. About $615 for everything.

Had the Vortex SPARC and mount laying around and pinned that on top.

Just finished turning my carbine into a rifle length setup. Haven't even fired it yet.
Double Star lower with 3lb Timney trigger
DPMS upper receiver/bolt carrier group
Palmetto State 20" chrome lined 1/7 twist 5.56 barrel
ACE butt stock/DPMS buffer tube
TA55 ACOG (BDC set for 20" 1/7 twist with 62 grain 5.56 ammo)
PWS556 compensator
Daniel Defense rifle length quad rail
Sierra Precision grip
Harris Bipod w/ larue mount
.
still waiting on my "pail-o-ammo" lake city 5.56 to show up.

After wanting a 20" AR and buying a carbine upper(impulse buy), I just had to get at 20". Still a work in progress, though.
Sorry for the cell pics, didn't feel like digging the camera out.

So far I really like it. Only have about 40 rounds through it right now. Kinda working some bugs out of it but it seems like it's running good now.

The rifle is black, my phone kinda washed it out with bad lighting and the brown background.

Its the 20" YHM chrome-lined fluted Hbar 1-7, has the little diamond fluting in front of the gas block. Ill try to get a god pic with my camera today.

Looks good. Might want to consider pushing that rear sight to the rear most position on the upper.
