Attachment 194591

5.11 Battle Belt with an ares gear ranger inner belt. Taco Double Deckers and 5.11 Dump pouch. My glock holster is an X-Concealment holster that works with any size Glock. I wanna get a Griffon holster so I can use any glock with my 300 as well. Still need to throw my multi tool on there and a fixed blade.

My old rig, which I never even used. I guess I wanted to replicate my ISSUED SETUP. Which sucked.
I could never find the yoke and collar and other attachments so oorah yada yada. Soft armor was great and but I needed something that would leave me enough space to wear my belt which held my pistol and other redundant gear.

Very close to what I used to wear...

This is my new rig, times change and so does gear. I've found this new rig to be easier to move in.

Doesn't some of that get in the way of drawing your pistol? Personally I don't like anything under my arms....

I've never had a problem with it getting in the way when drawing. The angle that pouch is at makes it look ridiculously fat but it's actually not all that bulky.
The IFAK and pouch were kind of annoying though, but putting them anywhere else they were either neigh on impossible to access or crowding my front and messing with my rifle's sling. After a few range trips I got pretty used to it though.

Thanks, man.
But I'm using ATS's Triple M4 Shingle and SKD's 2L PIG hydration carrier.

My pistol and 2 spare pistol mags would just be riding on opposite sides of my hip (anyone at the Zombie Shoot would know how I have it set up).

But here is the fighting load.

A blank Crye Precision CPC, still wondering how I should go about a convenient and fast set-up. Can anyone enlighten me on a few nifty ideas? So far I've only mounted ITW FastMag Pistol Magazine holders, but they're way too tight. Not sure if it takes time to break in or if it will always be like that. Taking magazines out of the holder will lift the plate carrier up, which is awkward.

If all of those magazines are 10 Round 30 Body, he would have a total of 120 rounds for his primary weapon, and then 50 rounds for his secondary weapon.

For an infantryman, the basic combat load I remember was one magazine in weapon and 6 magazines, totaling 210 rounds. Not to mention if said infantryman was an AG or AB in a gun team, he would be lugging around quite a few hundred rounds of 7.62, or some other random crap.

So besides his set-up being bulky, I don't think it'll weigh more than a patrol set-up.

Cheap current setup.
Simple voodoo front/back plate carrier. Condor 2 mag pouch with 2 AK47 magazines, 1 pistol magazine, AK bullet button tool and flashlight. My trusty all purpose knife. Unfortunately there isnt a lot of real estate to mount my current ifak pouch I have in the front and plan to get a more compact pouch in order to get it up on the front side on the carrier. You never know how you'll go down or where you'll get struck but I plan to move the ifak to the front. Got a backup can with more mags and medical supplies. This isnt for going hunting for hodgies. This is just a bump in the night break in situation rapid response setup for the home. I feel the most proficient and comfortable with the AK at this point and gear things around that and my pistol. I didnt bother considering pistol holster since my guns are stored in quick access safe away from fingers of young child. This is all secured close by sleeping place, ready to go.

Default My Setup

So, after slogging around the deserts and mountains carrying way too much "mission essential" gear, here's my current rig:

Mayflower APC with triple mag insert, and Peltor ear pro.

VTAC battle belt with Comp Tac railed 1911 holster, Tactical Tailor admin pouch, MM/Endom dump pouch, EGL Monkey Stomper mag pouch, and Eagle double .45 pouch.

Simple, expandable, and easy to up/downgrade gear -- as well as the inevitable tinkering with the rig...

No hydration yet, still trying to see what fits best on this setup, and working on putting together a blowout kit.

LOL at too many magazines. No one who has ever been in a firefight has ever said "**** I have too many magazines."

That's only ten mags. Standard load out is seven mags and that's for pogs. The minimum we'd carry was more around 12 and that was for a two day mission. If we were out longer we'd have way more than that.

So besides his set-up being bulky, I don't think it'll weigh more than a patrol set-up.
Infantrymen carry much more than seven. I was one of my platoon's SDMs and still carried 12 mags for my M4 along with enough for the M14 and I was still lighter than our Mk 48 and 240 gunners.

Not sure what a patrol set up is, but even if you're only going out for a day mission, you're carrying a lot of ****. Just because the mission plans for one day, doesn't mean it will always take that and you need to be prepared.

I have to agree with Steve on this one. heck I went out for a day and I carried 9 on my IBA and one in the M4. not to mention what I had hanging off the back of the gunner turret door hatch and not including what was hanging off the driver and passenger seat. my mission was intel and yes I prepared for the worse. it never happened but I would be very happy to have that extra ammo.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Default Because.....

I need to protect myself and my family with gear that will give us at least a fighting chance against all the cool rifles we see on this site.
If the average Calgunner has what you see in the rifle sections...then I would deem that my armor should be able to defeat or give me a second chance against that with all things being even.

Understood...I guess if I ever start taking classes I will have to consider this

That makes sense
