Hey guys,

I'm going to be coming out to Piru and X3 for the first time this Sunday. I've pre-registered, squadded up, and watched the Practiscore slideshow. Anything else to do beforehand, or anything else a rookie should know/plan for/ be aware of? Thanks, and look forward to seeing you Sunday AM...

The only things that I can think of are:

Do you know your rifle holds out to 400yd? There's a graphic one page back with all the flasher targets.

How are you going to carry your shotgun Ammo? A load 2/4 vest or some caddies work great. Loading singly out of a dump pouch does not work great.

Welcome!

Hey thanks Super Set, I'm looking forward to it!

I don't know that my rifle will, actually. My local club only has a 200 yard range so I've never tried to stretch it further than that. I'll go look for that graphic now.

I've got a sidesaddle on my shotgun and one of these:

http://www.skdtac.com/Tactical-Tailo...-p/1tt.183.htm

Hopefully that's enough! This will be very much a run-with-what-ya-got event for me. Pistol is stock, AR is stock, and shotgun has extremely minor upgrades. I'm new-ish to 3-Gun and am dipping my toe in to see if I like it (and if my wife will let me)!

Great time yesterday - the weather was much more conducive than last month's blistering heat. Got to shoot with some good guys and had a lot of fun!

Thanks to the fellow who gave me a battery for my optic!

SuperSet, I did, and thank you for your earlier advice! Thanks too for that intro video on the X3 homepage - I almost thought I was lost on the drive out until I recognized the sign from the opening shot.

It was a lot of fun but yeah, stage 6 with those 300+ yard shots did not go well for me. Since my home range only has a 200 yard course I talked to some guys in the squad about where'd they go for a longer range and several recommended Angeles. I might head out there before I return to X3 Multigun.

Sweet, man, glad you made it!
Angeles is a great range. I go there when I have to verify my zero since they have steel targets out at regular intervals.
Also, that public range closer to the entrance can be a great resource too since they have steel going out to 1000yds.

And don't forget, you can also become a member of X3 and have access to the range when we aren't running competitions. That way you can practice on the same targets you shoot in competition.

Attention X3 Shooters,

We are unfortunately going to have to cancel tomorrow's X3 Multi-Gun match, we just did not have the manpower to set up the match.

Our club relies on the help of our volunteers to plan, setup, and run the matches. Unfortunately, with the holidays we were too short handed to get the job done.

We are always looking for more people to join our setup crew and appreciate any and all help you are able to offer. In exchange for helping us with setup (which usually runs from about 830am-130pm on the Saturday before the matches), we will comp your match fees (a $40 value), provide lunch, and Taran Butler has offered to give every volunteer a free TTI basepad ($35 value).

If you would like to be included on the setup crew emails so that you can help out from time to time, email Match Director Sam Houston at samhouston17962@yahoo.com.

Thanks again for your continuing support of the club and Merry Christmas,
X3 Multi-Gun

Great match yesterday. It was my first 3gun match and everyone was extremely welcoming. The stages were challenging and definitely pressed my shooting skills. I now know what I need to work on. Will definitely see you guys next month. Thanks!

Thanks for coming out and we're glad you had a good time. We'll see you next month but don't forget to also check out our upcoming USPSA-style pistol match on the 31st and the next TTI Rifle Series match on February 14th.

We usually average around 60-70 shooters per match broken out into 6 squads. Typically we are done shooting around 2-3pm at the latest.

Heads up, this Sunday's X3 Multi-gun match has been cancelled. Between Father's Day and the impending heat wave we felt it best to cancel the match and give everyone a weekend off.
