Exclamation DP-12

I found a couple older threads about the DP-12 shotgun being legal in CA in its original configuration with a capacity of 6 shotgun shells per tube and two in the chamber. I wanted to see if there has been any updates on this topic.

I spoke with Standard Manufacturing today and asked why they have a CA specific model and their regular DP-12. I was told they made the CA specific model when it was on the chopping block by name with some legislation that never passed a few years ago. They said the standard model that holds 6 per tube is the same model they send to Turner's, Oak Tree Gun Club etc. and the CA model that limits the tubes doesn't need to be ordered. Is the regular DP-12 good to go? or does it need to be modified for CA?

Default DP-12

Just DROS’d one which was supposed to be California compliant with no problems but I didn’t check the tubes for the followers. CA law says maximum capacity for any shotgun which does not have a manual tube switch is 10 rounds. (thanks taperxz)

From their website: “CALIFORNIA COMPLIANT Plunger installation

Standard Manufacturing Co. has developed this California complaint kit in anticipation of upcoming changes in California laws.
Two plungers are included in this kit which is designed to follow behind the existing two plungers in your DP-12 tubular magazines.
These California compliant plungers will change the capacity of each magazine to a maximum 5 shells”

Um, they make CA compliant DP-12’s and it says on the box. If you didn’t get a CA compliant model and you transferred it, you may have severe issues.
