Question Best scope under $250???

Title pretty much says it. What would be the best scope (Under $250) to put on a 20" DPMS flattop fluted target upper? Any recommendations would be great, I have shot with scopes a bit, but I'm pretty clueless as to which brand to get and that sort of thing. Thanks!

Can you save $50 dollars more? What is the rifle for? Just target or hunting?

If you are shooting 100 Yd I would strongly suggest Hakko Electro-Point Rifle Scope 4X 20 Matte Black 1" AR-15/M15 . It is an excellent quality Japanese made scope around $147

I have this optic on my 10/22. It is awesome. I recommend that you look at Mueller optics. Seems to be the best bang for the buck. My scope is very clear and bright.

Look at the tactical line also.

I like the pentax game seeker. i think it goes for around 180.
I have done a lot of shooting with it, and only ever had problems when taking shoots into the sun at dusk. it does farely well in low light though.

Cut and paste my comments from another thread.

In these price ranges the Bushnell Elite 3200 10x is hard to beat.

+1 for Super Sniper. Can be had new for $300-400 on swfa.com, or $250-350 on swfa's sample list

They compare favorably to the Leupold Tactical scopes, according to numerous reviews on arfcom, snipersparadise, etc.

+1 on Leupold..... especially these lower cost series..... TOP NOTCH glass, cheap copies' price....

Don't go with those copies or replicas stuff.... just get some real Leupold glass...

Personally, I think Leupold is much clearer than the SuperSniper.... to me, the SS is always kinda, blurry.... when comparing side-by-side with a Leupold...

If you are target shooting save $50 more and get a Super Sniper 10x. If you are doing some hunting a Leupold VX-I will be good.

+1 More on this one. I have the prostaff on a Tikka T3 and it is a great scope. Just get some good scope covers for it (quick). I didn't ever scratch my optics, but it drove me nuts with worry for a week or two while I didn't have covers.

Wally World (at least the one here in Milpitas) has a Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40 (model # 56170) for $249.00. I'm sure the Rifleman series isn't as good as the the other models, but it's still a Leupold.
