This is tact/prec so no bench at all. We shoot multiple positions - prone, sitting, kneeling, standing or improvised positions using various rests etc. Most of the shots are in prone. The match starts at noon with prezeroing starting around 10:00 a.m.

If you want to come you need to let me know for sure so I can get you on the list.

Sorry, I'm not much up on pistol distances, that's why I made it a rifle match.

How about trying the target at 15 yds with open sites pistols, 25 yds for scoped pistols.

Would that work?

I completely forgot to bring the target last time I was at the range. If I get to the range this month I will for sure bring it.

I got to shoot today , I printed this target on 8.5x11 card stock paper . Conditions were less than ideal . the winds were swirling and it was dark and overcast , I think i could easily better this score of 73 with good conditions . This was shot at 50 meters witch is equal to 54.7 yards and was my best of the 3 targets i shot .

Next month we need a target with some sighter targets on it.

Scored a 51 today. Best out of 3 targets. Could definatly done better, Wind was gusting on and off today. Ill try to get a picture up today. Hope i get out again before the contest is over , need to redeem myself for todays shooting..

Thanks for letting my try out the AR22 ryan, was fun! Glad the problem with it was easy enough to fix

No problem, I'm relieved now that I found ammo that works flawlessly.

My score was probably half of that, didn't even bother with it..damn wind.

Well , I shot 3 more targets today and the best I could get at 50 meters with the contender pistol was a 68 . I wont get to shoot next weekend but the following one I plan to shoot on Sat when the range opens at 8:00 am. on sundays it opens at 9:30 and shortly after that the wind seems to pickup . Both times i shot these targets my best was the first target .

ok finally got my new savage Mako MKII and the vortex 6-24x 50 scope and had to get it sighted it and play... had a decent day even thought the wind was gusting up to 30mph and all I had was american eagle 36 gr hp bulk. see my gun and results

maybe you guys can correct me but I thought considering the wind and the ammo not a bad showing... will get some wolf or something similar at the gun show this coming weekend

If I count correctly that 34 or 39 points depending on the top left is really close to a complete knockout but I wasn't sure how to score it

I've set this up as a rifle match, but pistoleros with scopes have shot well at this distance. I'm not sure about pistol distance with open sites, so 'm up for sugestions!

Is 15yds with open site pistols workable, or am I way off base?

Looks like there is little chance there will be any positive scores or am I misreading this?

Hope the next one will have a "positive" possibility.

15yd pistol sounds good. maybe there should be 2 friendly comps. 1 pistol and 1 rifle. i have no problem doing both. although i must warn you. my score will SUCK. at least untill i get my target barrel and stock for my 10/22. i'm still using the stock barrel. it's pretty accurate but i still get the occasional flier.

Got to challenge the Calgunners once in while!

If you keep it all black dot and a few white ring you're going to stay positive! Even with a few occasional black rings, as long as you stay mostly black dot and white ring you should have + in front of your score.

Printed at 94% the dot is 5/16"
including the white ring increases it to 11/16"
including the black ring increases it to 15/16"

So... I guess you must shoot better than 1 moa often and not venture far from it to time keep positive!

It's all just for fun and bragging rights!
You can brag about negative scores too!

Good luck!

Stay positive!!!

You CAN do it!

dwh... quick question.. do you count each shot or each group... assuming someone is good enough to shoot 3 shots and all be in the black dot not touching the white ring of #1 is that 15 points or 5 points?

ok another question. since i'm most likely going to shoot pistol...

15yd iron sights

25yd pistol scope

is that acceptable? i think it should be fine. it's alot harder to shoot pistol than it is to shoot rifle.

calixt0 count each shot.

bongfoo nobody chimed in earlier... so I guess 15 yds is ok open sites

scoped pistols not sure as last month there was some pretty good 50 yd scoped pistol shooting happening in the match!

Do what you find comfy I guess, just let us now your distance.

Default OK...I'll embarass myself

25 yards, open iron, wind about 5

Minus 65. With the wind chill.

The group to the left of the 10 and the one to the right of the 6 where my buddies.....no really.
