Default Judging from what I see on shelves...

perhaps owning a .17 HMR or .22 WMR rifle isn't such a bad idea. It's the only rimfire ammo I see on the shelves, obviously not super popular but almost everywhere I went they had the ammo on the shelves.

Same with .380 ACP, almost every store still had this ammo in stock. Are these calibers the kids that sat in the corner at the dance and were never asked?

That's what I see, too.

.17HMR, .22 WMR, 380 ACP, 243, .270 and 30-30

Basically the expensive rimfires and odd ball hunting rounds.

It's a good thing I traded some Yugo 7.62x54R for 2 boxes of Federal 525 on Wednesday.

Lucky you. The only thing I see on the shelves is shelving:

Taken about an hour ago at walmart.

LGS had Tula 7.62x39...at 62 cents per. Until recently, I felt I overpaid for Golden Tiger @ 22 cents per. No .22 at LGS, Dicks or Big 5. I am fortunate as I dont need to buy, but wow - its a depressing sight right now.

Your walmart is better than my walmart - two hours ago in Orange.

There should be a stabbed through the heart smiley. Hope you have what you need for the next 6 (???) months or so.

The Huntington Beach Walmart on Beach/Talbert was about the same as those empty ones. some random calibers I don't care about and even out of 12 gauge. Plenty of 20 G though.

Looks about the same as the Poway Walmart. The guy behind the counter there said they still get shipments every now and then but it's back off the shelves within hours. When I was there there was a young couple that was cleaning out the last of the newly arrived .40

I just picked up a 17HMR for this reason, I found ammo for it all over the place so I thought I should buy one. I found a 93R17F for $260 out the door. and 500 Rounds of 17HMR 17 Gr.V-Max with a free Dry Box shipped for $115. Plus the rounds is nice fast comparied to a 22lr for a rimfire. They even have 10 rd mags for it as well.
