Cool SHTF... years later, what is your "twinkie?"

In the movie Zombieland, Woody Harrelson is constantly on the search for a twinkie. Something about the twinkie reminding him of a better time, kind of represents happiness I guess.

Zombieland truck scene, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeS6DvyLScE

Years after a SHTF, society collapsed and you survived. What would be your "twinkie"?

Second part of the question, do you have a stash or stock pile of this in your home?

My "twinkie" would be Dr. Pepper. I try to keep a stock pile, but I can't stop drinking them

It's of things.

Pepsi (the stuff with real cane sugar, not the HFCS crap)
Good scotch
Vanilla ice cream
Blue raspberry/cherry snow cones.
The list could go on...and on...and on.

I once read a western short story about a honest man who who went through great trials, tribulations and traveled a long distance just to eventually track down the men that had stolen his smoked ham. it wasn't just about revenge, it was about justice. (and let's face it, he really wanted that ham. )

I thought to myself ..."bacon will do that to you. if I was on his trial by jury, I would never convict him of killing those men.)

so I'm going with bacon, ham or fried barbecue ribs.

which unike the Pepsi and Dr Pepper, I can make myself, given the time and ingredients.

I think it would be a lot easier to breed pigs for bacon, than all of the things required to make Dr Pepper. That being said, crispy bacon... almost makes me want to change my answer.

When all the necessities are taken care of I buy a chest freezer and fill it with bacon, then hook it to the solar when SHTF.

Mine-coffee. I know it is a renewable but we don't have the right climate to grow it and would be very scarce.

My GF's-P*ssy Products (our term) to include those flushable wet wipes and tampons. Watching The Walking Dead she is constantly grossed out at how nasty things must be down there.

I suppose you could eat your wife and children, but doesn't seem very tasty.

Just kidding. I suppose based on my question that is probably the best answer yet. I had just assumed they survived with me and ignored them as an option, but can't take anything for granted.

I could eat my dogs I guess if I got hungry enough, but I have plenty of livestock. I guess it might be a matter of proprieties. Although I do relish in the enjoyment of a fresh ripe pear off one of my trees.

Nothing better than family.

Having lived overseas, some of the things we really coveted at various times were "real" cheese, favorite candy bars, ranch dressing packets, and...Dr. Pepper. Also traditional things that were hard to get such as pumpkin pie filling. Anyone who knew how to make tortillas from scratch could name their price.

Not sure if I'll have electricity years after SHTF but I would need to have my DVD of Appllo 13.

It lets me know that there was a better time in America when we were not afraid to attempt great things. And years after SHTF, it could remind us that those things could occur again.

Beat me to it!

If you have the ability to make ice cream, then you can also make almost any other food item.

The quest to make ice itself was a major plot point of the Harrison Ford movie "The Mosquito Coast".
