Default One gun every 30 days question

I just bought a Glock Gen 3 from my LGS. He’s waiting for the pistol to be delivered, but I already paid in full including DROS last week.

I understand that the 10 day waiting period starts when the pistol is delivered to the dealer. My question is on the 30-day rule. When can I buy a second handgun from another dealer? Is it 30 days from the delivery of the first pistol to the store, or 30 days from the time I take delivery, that is, 40 days total?

Knowing CA I suspect it’s the latter, 30 days from the time I take it home, but thought I’d check.

Thanks for any info.

The 10 day wait does not start when it is delivered, it starts when the DROS is submitted. The pistol is eligible for pickup exactly 240 hours after that. And the 30 days is exactly 720 hours after the DROS is submitted, which will usually be ~20 days after you pick up the first pistol.

So not 40 days.

You can purchase a pistol whenever you want. You can only do DROS transactions every 30 days.

Please correct me if I’m wrong. PPT do not fall under the one in 30 day restriction?

Correct, but it did not seem that he was asking about that since he was referring to dealer purchases.

Got it, thanks. That’s actually good news for me in this case. Appreciate the info.
