try c-3-2 in October, November, and December 1967 at Fort lewis Washignton with snow on the ground and we were supposed to be headed for Viet Nam. Then I was sent to Fort Bragg North Carolina with a wind chill factor of 20 below and snow in January 1968. Only time I saw pine trees and power poles drop under the weight of ice on them. The only time he-- froze over and it was my dumb luck to be there both times.

C-3-2 at North Fort, Fort Lewis December 1967. Cold, frozen, and definitely not liking the snow but found out that in January I was going to an even colder hell than Fort Lewis.

"Traditional" National Guard OCS is conducted in the home state during IDT with two AT periods at a regional RTI. In California's case we went to Fort Meade, SD.

We do everything that Benning does and more...

Ahh... understand.

I know that alot of the schools that the NG conduct on thier own do not actually count in the US Army (NCOES schools, sniper courses, etc.) is it the same for NG OCS?

The California Military Academy (OCS) has full accreditation with the Ft. Benning School of Infantry. Our commissions are federally recognized and come from the same presidential citations as ROTC, USMA, Benning, etc.

As far as NG MOS schools go, I can't really say since all my other training has been on active duty. All officer branch training is done on the active side. I know we have an 11b IDT course that has had graduates deploy with the 3rd ID in support of OIF.
