As a FYI to potential entrants, USPSA membership/classification is not required to shoot the match but to be eligible for cash payout you must have a USPSA membership with a classification of D or higher.

Nice! Any idea on how the cash payout is going to be structured? I’m assuming there needs to be a minimum of per division per classification? |

The details for the cash payout is being worked on. Once finalized the information will be posted.
But in the mean time, one stage design has been posted to show what participants can expect at the match. https://westcoastbrassfest.com/gallery/ |

Another stage posted to https://westcoastbrassfest.com/gallery/ for your viewing pleasure.
Round count for this stage is low but it will get you thinking on how best to shoot the course. Round count for entire match will be 280+ rounds over 12 stages. |

I’ve never done any event, wouldn’t even know what class to register. Is there a spectator gallery or some provision for newbies to see how things are run so I can familiarize myself for a future event? TIA

Thanks. Have a toddler at home so I need to plan in advance (babymama already dislikes it when I go to weekend training for handgun and carbine a couple times a year leaving her with the toddler terror).

With the mods you have you would be shooting Open division in USPSA.

Take advantage while you can. Olympics will ban shooting sports and no more Olympic practive range. They’ll turn it into badminton courts.

For those that don’t have the Practiscore Matchbook app, as long as you registered and paid, you should be able to see information regarding the match on the Practiscore website.
Registration is currently closed so we can start setting up the scoring tablets for our Friday shooters. If you haven’t registered but would like to shoot, please email the Match Director for further instructions. |

See you guys over the weekend...!!!
There was a choice to go through 12 stages in one-day; but I don't think I would be both mentally and physically able to do 12 stages... Hahaha!!! |

Weather is looking really good for the weekend!
For all those that are entered please double check your membership number and classification. We will be running the classification update to verify competitors are in the correct class. No member number and no classification = no payout. |

Friday shooting done.
Next up Saturday/Sunday shooters. Prize table is big! Sponsors were very generous. We have several guns/certificates to raffle off and numerous other items from our sponsors. Some hiccups on Friday but most of them worked out thanks to our quartermaster and numerous other volunteers. |

Yes, it was a good call, and definitely a learning experience for me. I need to learn/work on movement in corners/retreats. But regardless, it was fun and challenging match while it lasted (at least for me). Great and fun squad! Looking forwarding to coming back again... More experienced, more learned, and hopefully, better... As they say in the martial arts, "Fall 7 times; get up 8...!" Cheers! _

I shot the match yesterday, Friday. The start was a little rough, as the stages were not ready until after 9am. The stage props were very good. There was a cooper tunnel, a stage which I could not preplan due to the myriad of obscured targets, a wobbly bridge stage, see saws, a trolley with targets, and the usual assortment of swingers, drop turners etcetera. Here is my match video. |

Well, at least you had your finger out of the trigger guard. Here is a hint, when moving forward down range, keep the gun in front of you. Then, you never need to worry about the 180 in those instances.

I at least got the "memory" stage in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yYRTiBTe94 the barrels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY595KfQrb8 and, at least for my limited participation, the Bermuda: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljQ91bv9IT4 Quote:
I guess I would have to admit that my movement is my weakest link right now. I routinely dry practice, but its mostly vision, trigger control, draws and reloads. I just don't know how to incorporate movement in dry practice in a confined home. What's more, so far the classes I have taken haven't introduced movement for competition. I was supposed to attend a JJ Racaza 2-day class in Piru the weekend before Brass Fest. Unfortunately, 6 of 9 students canceled in the last moment, and the class got postponed. *ugh* Cheers~~~ _
