I have used over 10k of the Acmes in 40 and 9mm and they are really good Bullets. Highly recommended. However, I would recommend the 180 flat point Bullets over the swc for better feeding.

I have been using the Slug Fest 180gr RNFP in my G35 as well as the 40 cal Spartan STI, really nice bullet they are local meaning Long Beach Area and the price was right on large order.
My wife shoots the 124gr 9mm RN also very nice, use to buy the Berry's but they could not beat Slug fest price, if you pick up at the shop he discounted a little more for me and helped me load them in the truck. He is often at the OC gun show but now that it is mostly jewelry I don't know if he still goes. Look him up on the net. |

+1 for Slugfest Bullets, I've been using the 180 gr .40 cal and the 205 gr .45 cal.
Good product, discounts for quantity orders. I haven't seen him at the OC gunshow lately. http://www.slugfestbullets.com/category-s/106.htm |

I use Hi-Tek Coated Hard Cast Lead bullets from B&B Casting (formerly Black and Blue Bullets). I've been using the .40 180gr NLG FP (.401) for about three years now and have been very happy with them.

I've shot moly coated bullets in a Glock and had lots of trouble with the moly fouling the barrel, granted I was using Titgroup, a very fast/hot powder, but I stopped shooting the moly's, I'd rather pay a bit more for copper coated and save the hours of cleaning my barrel. That moly is really hard to remove.

Bear Creek is old tech and filthy. Also, I almost blew up a Glock 23 with the things, the leading was that bad.
I use Bayou Bullets, but there are others like Blue Bullet, Acme, and others all using the Hi-Tek coating. Pick the bullet shape and price you like. |

Leading with bear creek? I'd love to see that because I run 230g at 900fps out of my g21 and haven't cleaned it in more than a year. No leading in my barrel at all.

Yes, the leading was that bad. But, the caveat is some Glocks lead and probably most don't. If it's the persons intention to go a head and use this low tech coating, then they should keep an eye on the situation, and if no leading appears, then rock on.
I just happen to think that Hitek coating is superior to moly. And just about any company out there is superior to Bear Creek. |

Wondering how you almost blew up the gun shooting Moly's? If you are getting lead deposits, you aren't putting enough bell on the case mouth and are scraping off the coating. Lead should never even touch the barrel.
I've used Bear Creek for years in many guns and have pushed their 140 gr RN in 40 cal to 1350 fps with no leading issues. My load was using power pistol at the time. Platform is a S&W 610 classic using 40 S&W brass. Any bullet that is not jacketed or plated will give you fits if you scrape the coating off while seating. I've probably shot at least 100,000 Bear creeks without any leading issue.. The Moly coating your barrel doesn't need be removed.. you let it coat the barrel and then that's all you shoot. The Bore of my 610 hasn't been "cleaned" in several years, no accuracy loss, no leading. Last edited by sargenv; 03-22-2018 at 5:43 AM.. |
