Default Good cheap 1911 magazines?

Anyone know where I can find good cheaply priced 1911 magazines?

What is the cheapest known 1911 magazine that contains a anti tilt follower?

Cheap mags won't be cheap, because you'll be scrapping them and getting better ones.

Don't go cheap on mags, get yourself some Wilson 47Ds / Chip McCormick Powermags/ Tripp Research mags.

Look here and on arfcom, you can usually find them for $25 each lightly used.

Cheap and good rarely go together. You will save yourself money in the long run by buying good quality mags to start with. Don't ask me how I know.

When it comes to ammo/magazine feeding, don't go cheap. Your life may depend it.

Google - Top Gun Supply in Ohio for quality 1911 magazines at realistic prices.

I agree Wilson 47D mags are top notch, but the mags I linked are the same as I carried (was issued, Go Navy!) when I was gunning up every day, and make great beater/range mags.

I like Checkmate magazines. I got them from Top Gun Supply for pretty cheap and they work really well! I got the extended 8 rounders with slam pad.

Like others have written, don't get cheap 1911 mags. You'll end up with junk.
Wilsons, Tripp or McCormick are the way to go. Much cheaper in the long run.

If you want beater range mags on the cheap, then go for whatever. If you are buying mags to compete with or bet your life on then skimping should be out of the equation.

IMO, McCormick Powermags are excellent quality at a comfortable price and are the best compromise.

It depends on what the magazines are for. Like others have said, cheap magazines are ok for range use but reliable quality magazines are a must for SD. I use Wilson Combat magazines and am very happy with them.

I had my doubts when I bought them for the price. I am a believer, and will only get CHIPs.

If you need an anti-tilt follower in a full sized mag then go with McCormick Powermag Plus.

Whatever you do don't buy a bunch of one type of magazine before you make sure it works in YOUR 1911. Buy 1 and test it out, then once you find a brand that you gun likes buy more. I made that mistake and wound up spending alot of extra money.

I bought 4 Wilson 47Ds and then found out that my 1911 didn't like them when they were loaded to 8 rounds and inserted with the slide forward (wouldn't go into battery on the 1st round but worked great other than that). They worked great in my friends 1911 . So now I have nearly 2 dozen mags for 1 gun.

Sounds like you need a beer and someone to buy a few of those mags. Hint hint.

Agree. These are all I use. I don't like mags with rubber pads, flush fit for me.

It's a myth that you need a Wilson or Chip McCormick to run right in your gun.

http://www.cdnninvestments.com/colt.html

They have Metalform mags for $10-$15, and ACT Mags for $18-$20. Both are high quality manufacturers.

Mags are similar to saddles....good saddles ain't cheap, cheap saddles ain't good...FWIW I've had good luck with Metalform, CMC, Wilson and Tripp, the ones that have been flawless for me are Chips, Wilson and Tripps, and I've gotten a slew of mags from the 1911forum WTS section for good prices, I think the last deal I got was 4 Wilson mags for $60...if you check on there periodically you'll see some pretty good deals

I got the 7rd with hybrid lips and heavy spring. They feed SWC great.
You'll be wanting your Uplula loader with these mags...

+1 to that. Checkmate, with the hybrid feed lips and the dimpled follower.
