Default .308 AR10 muzzle brake advice

Hey guys,

I am building a MA-Ten 308 and have about 80% of the rifle complete. I just need the handguard and muzzle brake in order to complete it. As for handguard, I will probably go with the Jp-ent vtac but for some reason I can't seem to decide on a muzzle break. I know this is small potatoes compared to deciding on a barrel but I really want to finish this build off right. My rifle is gonna be kinda low key "KISS" but I really wanted an obscenely huge looking muzzle brake Probably to compensate for something (cough cough). Let me know what you guy come up with. Cal-gunners have always steered me the right way.

Parts list so far:
Mega MA-ten upper/lower receiver
DPMS 24'' ss fluted bull barrel
DPMS BCG
Magpul PRS
Ergo grip
Jp-ent VTAC or SWS E-1
Muzzle Brake??????? HELP??

i went with a DPMS Miculek brake for my LR-308 build. I wanted the 24" fluted bull barrel like the one you got, but I didn't like the length, so I ended up getting a non-fluted barrel so it can be cut to 20". The Miculek brake fitted nicely and didn't show much oversizing.
Another good brake I recommend is a Vias brake. They make 308 brakes in many different dimeter. I put one on my Remington 700P and it is fitted flush with the heavy barrel.

Both brakes are very effective, yet loud.

Good Luck with your selection,
Hans

gun broker actually. Found the barrel "slightly used" for a great price and the bcg was brand new also at a killer price.

I've always read good things about the Miculek brakes. I've been eyeing an SJC Titan comp for mine though. I shot the Titan for .223 and it was like shooting a damn BB gun.

I de-breaked my AR10A2 upper with the infantry weight bbl. Just use the A2 style flash hider. Works just fine for me. The only other mod is the buttplate on the A2 stock, replaced it with an A1 buttplate for t-shirt days.

I am a firm believer in the JP Large Tactical brake after testing on my rifle. The muzzle barely moves and significantly reduced the recoil. I am not exaggeratin when it kicks less then my AR15.

Here are some picks:

That's a DAMN nice rig! May I copy it EXACTLY on my next 10 build?

I like this one from Accuracy Systems. I had the PWS FSC30, but I did not like the crap blown back in my face when shooting prone and the amplified sound.

That looks wicked, I like it. Does it still flip the muzzle so you can't stay on target?
