Default Scope rings on Barrett MRAD with Vortex Razor HD gen ii

Like said above, I'm deciding on which scope rings to put on my MRAD. The scope is the Razor HD gen ii 4.5-27x56 with a 34mm tube size. Through some research I did it seems 1.45" is the ideal height if running flip up covers. (Recommend height to a guy on forum with same scope going on REPR). My preference is QR mounted but it isn't a necessity. Also, the rail has a 30 moa slant built into already if that changes the suggestions. Vortex sells some rings that seem good but I want to see if there are far superior rings to use. Thanks in advance!

I was considering those. Also considering vortex rings/cantilever mount or a Spuhr mount. Just not how sure how much i really need to spend really. I like the spuhr the most but holy crap is it expensive.

I am a big fan of the American Defense Manufacturing RECON mount.

Since you want a 1.45" ring height and your rail already has 20MOA elevation built-in, then the AD-RECON-SW (1.550" ring height, see dimension A below) is the one to get.

AD-RECON-SW Scope Mount / Item No: AD-RECON-SW

Reasonably priced, too. $175.95

I thought there was a hype factor with the Spuhr until I stumbled on a deal from Mile High that included one free with the purchase of a Gen1 Razor. Once I had it in my hand I could see it was worth what they are asking and I wouldn't hesitate to spend the $$ for another. I mean look at the rifle and glass you're working with...$450 for one of the best mounts available is going to break you?

Since posting my last response I have decided on the Spuhr mount. I love all the extra details they've put into it. The indexed bolts for exact torqueing and the built in level are great things. Deciding on standard or extended cantilever. Any inputs on that? I know I have plenty of rail space but if I ever wanted to put it on another platform the extended cantilever might be best?

I'm putting that on the scar 17 when I decide on my optic.

Just get the regular SPUHR and leave the cantilever for the AR type platforms. As you need to run a 34mm tube, not much use for 34mm tube on an AR. Whether you need a 0moa or 20moa mount depends on caliber and what you intend to do with it.

As far as MOA needed, the rifle is currently a 308 with an integrated 30 MOA rail. The optic has a max of 113.5 available MOA. At some point I will get the 338 conversion. As far as the distance, my club range goes from 100-600. So that would be my frequent shooting distances. But, I am wanting to reach out to 1,000 yards with the 308 and even more when I eventually get the 338. I would like to do a 100zero for my normal shooting with the 308. I don't think I'd really ever shoot the 338 less then 200 but more realistically around 600 unless making a special trip. I imagine the 20MOA mount be overkill as I am not a designated ELR shooter?

You said the rail already has 30 MOA. You won't even need that as the Vortex scope will have enough adjustment on it's own for 1000yds.. You definitely don't need 50 MOA.

On my 2nd Spuhr, love them. I will buy more in the future.

Sorry for the thread jack...Curious, does anyone here use a Larue LT104 for their MRAD? How was the ergonomics with this mount on the MRAD?

I went with the Vortex HD 5-20 (saved $550 compared to the Gen2, that fund going towards AMMO!!)
