Not really.

It is much harder to hit 10 separate targets than to place 10 shots on 1...after the first couple of shots, you're just shooting at a big hole.

Shooting at 10 separate targets takes more focus and detachment from the results...staying in the process

I’ll hit the range tomorrow or Thursday. Probably take a Glock 19 and a 1911(9mm). Maybe dust off the Ruger 22/45 to warm up with now that 22 is not being hoarded and flipped so badly.

trying again, Angeles 7 yard range...

Dan Wesson 715 357. 8/10 + 8/10. Heavy!

New comer this week, Ruger Redhawk 44 7/10
several weeks no shooting, SpringField XDM 5.25 9mm 8/10

Glock 41 BarSto 9/10. it was 7.5/10 last week.

Maybe all these three are important, to keep concentration?
(a) Gun-shooter-ammo Accuracy. about 10-15MOA required for 7 yard. (.22 to .45)
(b) Gun's weight, controllability
(c) Practice / Experience

It's something strange that shooting Ram steel at 100 yard (12x24 body) is far easier than Ten Penny challenge.

That is some fine fine shooting! I've not had a chance to get to the range yet even!

I used to shoot at Lifesavers candies but apparently I kept shooting right through the hole in the center because they never moved.

Yup, I'm that good.

My buddy Luke said...

"I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home. They're not much bigger than two meters."

This should tell you 2 things,
that he is actually proud of shooting something 2 metres in size.
And anyone who can afford a T 16 is the type of person who can't hit a womp rat with it.

Great shooting from bmk20398!
It was already hard for me from 5 yards, but bmk did it consistently from 7 yards ***two thumbs up***.

Thank you! ten penny challenge is interesting that
(1) have to change POA slightly x 10 times
(2) target is very small, stress on shooter's mindset
so not only accuracy, deft on hand is important?
will try again... maybe 10/6 or 10/7.

Did you use the six o’clock hold? Or POA/POI?

I was using POA/POI but I am thinking of a six o’clock hold because the target is simply too small. Problem is that some of my handguns do not have adjustable sights and I do not want to dial them in just for this challenge.

I'm aiming almost top tip of penny,

I do zero at 15 or 17 yards.
when barrel center to sight top = 0.6in,
0.6 : 15 = x : 7
x = 0.28 in at 7 yard, POI is below POA
center of penny to top of penny = 0.375
So I should aim -0.09 inch point from top of penny... omg my eye is not so precise.

OMG. Using a combat hold, well almost, is a lot harder for aiming.
Again, great shooting bmk.

Did you consider that hitting a two-meter target while traveling 500 mph might be something you couldn't do?

Not even comparable to some of the posts here but I did better than I expected. Took the family out to Moon Rocks today and the boys road their dirt bikes while I spent some time working with the wife on her shooting.

I'm no bullseye shooter and I never practice slow fire, all my training is defensive in nature. 1st is my Les Baer, 3 hits in 15 seconds. 2 nd is my Shadow 2, 4 hits and one nick in 20 seconds. Still don't even have 50 rounds through the Shadow but it's a keeper.
