Default 1944 Mosin 91/30 at Campbell Big 5

Just wanted to let people know there is a really nice 1944 Mosin 91/30 at the Campbell Big 5 for $199.00. Yes and I know, I know they were cheaper before! Just thought I would let folks know if they want to get started on their C&R collection, it's smothered in cosmo and is a really nice clean example, looks unissued. Nice clean stock too, no scratches.

a MN retail for 199 is a good retail deal if you want more Mosins. i have been looking at them myself. i saw one with a very nice pre war stock on it that i almost bought. i would rather pay 200 retail for a mosin i can hold and see than get a beater POS mail order .
thank you for TRYING to help.
i just paid 300 for a nice 1944 izzy ex sniper , did i pay to much ?. to some here yes me NO. it has a like new bore, all matching. very nice wood and metal.

If I were closer, I'd pick it up now. Thanks for the word.

Default retail

most of us buy retail, the % of us with C&R licenses is very small. price is not everything to all of us. some make a game out of bargains. that is fine. most of us want a nice shooter to clean and take to the range. my very small collection is not based on rarity, my wallet will not allow me to do that. to me a 1944 izzy ex sniper in very nice condition is a better rifle than a 1942 tula ex sniper in rough condition. these referb mosins at big 5 are nice rifles. get them while you can.

I have a nice m44 up for sale in the marketplace for $250 (cash and carry in San Diego). Ruffly the same price after taking into consideration taxes and DROS (and no 11 day (big5 policy) waiting period)

Thanks NOTABIKER, some people I guess are just plain "grumpy know it alls" with no life other than to put down others who are trying to help others. It was actually a nicer example than Ive seen available lately even from known C&R dealers. Who likes paying all the fees/taxes etc., not me. And yes many people dont have C&R's, who would like this rifle and can afford to pay the extra costs.

Is it possible to find a nice Mosin cheaper? Yes.

Is a nice, clean Mosin worth $200 + fees? Yes.

I have a C&R FFL03, and I have still bought Mosins at Big 5 on occasion when I saw something I liked.

And let's not forget:

C&R online purchases are a pig in a poke.

There is value in being able to physically inspect a rifle before buying it.
