Default 6x45 build

I am toying around with building a new rifle in 6x45 I am thinking about 16-18" barrel

What twist should I go with? I will be handloading for it probably 85-100gr bullets.

Im looking at these:

I have one. Its a great shooter built around a BHW 18" SS medium profile barrel, I believe 1-8 twist that I shoot 50-90gr projectiles out of depending on what it needs to do. I use a lot of Xterminator, Tac, and CFE223 with it.

I checked mine is a1-10, which is why I don't shot heavier than 90gr, as I can't get then going fast enough.

I'm thinking either 1/8 or 1/9 just not sure yet. Id like to shoot 55 up to 100gr bullets if its possible im still doing all the research.

But with the 1/10 you are able to shoot the light 50gr bullets with no problem?

Sounds like 1/9 May be what I'm looking for. 100gr would be my max weight probably 90 would be normal

Yeap, it loves 50/55gr bullets, its just as you get into the heavier weights you have a hard time to safely push it fast enough to stabilize.

Seems like the 6x45 should be way more popular than it is.

I have a 1:8 twist on my 6x223 bolt rifle so that I can shoot 105's if I want.
The rifle is best used with 95gr Matchkings though as that bullet will match the bc and velocity of a 308 with 175 matchkings.
The 6x223 is the perfect trainer rifle as it has the same dope and windage as the heavier recoiling 308, but uses less powder and should have a better barrel life.

Don't know.
I have no need for lighter weight 6mm bullets.
If I want to shoot lighter weight bullets, I have 22, 20 or 17 caliber guns.

What's better for this cartridge, model 7 or 700?

I use a 700 because parts are so common.
The 7 limits you a lot, even though it is a little shorter/lighter.
We are only talking a couple ounces though.
I use 223 AICS magazines that allow you to load to 2.5" overall length.
