Would "snake shot" actually the preferred ammunition if someone had to shoot a snake? Is .22LR enough for the job or would a bigger caliber be advisable? (Sorry for all the questions!)
Good Questions ::::

I know there was a lot of them 'Popping' up in the spring
But now , I haven't been seeing many at all
I ran across more on the other side on the hills in the banning beaumont area

Myself I have never used that 'Snake shot' load. But it is in .22 and up sizes
The .22 in a pistol works just fine / Those little hollow-points really will rip that little guy up
But myself I perfer the 9 MM to make sure the job is Done !!
I've only had 1 this season that I 'had ' to take care of
It tried to get the wife and dog and was at a common stoping point on the trail

I'd take any shot shell over any slug type projectile. Snakes don't take much from what I've seen, but I could see them being hard to actually hit. Also make sure your are only shooting something you have to. Most of the snakes out that way are non poisonous and the rattle snakes tend to flee if they can.
