I went to the range today, I got a 4x Sigtac CP4 scope for my DSA SA58 and wanted to Dial in at 100 yards, I used the ZQI 7.62x51 ammo that Walmart has for $10 a box. I was hoping for better results than what I got but I've heard plenty of times FAL is about 3MOA but I thought that was just iron sights. The range was closing so I didn't get to try much for groups just got the scope in the ball park and finished the last box of ammo. I have 100 rounds of IMI Samson match grade Israeli ammo that I'll probably use next time out. I really like the wood furniture FALs that are posted, if I change anything I'll get wood.

SA58 (Steyr), on DSA Type II receiver and a para lower, vltor handguard, ACOG TA11E

Now using a Pride Fowler 2.5-10x and happier with precision at distance and the 2.5x is good enough for up close as well. Aesthetically, the GripPod is kind of lame, but it does double duty and is much lighter than using the Harris bipod and a separate vertical grip.

My FrakenFAL. Imbel receiver, G1 lower, Argentine barrel, Aussie handguards, Belgian buttstock, Zeiss scope, Enterprise brake, forgot-what-brand grip with much less angle than the original (I have short fingers & the original was just too much), DSA 10-round mag, Israeli forward-assist charging handle, L1A1 selector. I forget who made the bullet button & the scope mount.

DSA tactical carbine turned into a rifle with an Imbel barrel, Israeli butt, and DSA handguards and Browning style flash hider. Properly bullet buttoned of course.

The 16" barrel carbine with the short gas system was border-line unshootable. The recoil and muzzle blast was painful.

Just added a DSA folding charging handle, much better than the cocking handle that sticks out and catches on everything.

I like this one a lot.

Way back in the 80’s as a kid I saw a picture of a FAL with SUIT Trilux sight a just thought it was one sexy looking rifle, so many years later I put one together, had to build the sight out of 2 damaged scopes and replaced the Tritium. It’s a great shooter, and I get a lot of questions about the scope. I just wish I could replace the muzzle break with an evil pencil type flash hider

Default Metric IMBEL FAL on DSA

Got it built because of the fear of impending legislation. So I have been buying my holy grails - a couple ARs, an M1A, an M1 Garand, and now a FAL.

I have an inch version in a box, waiting on a Coonan receiver.

The Imbel shoots like a champ. Very happy!

Default Para FAL

New Para FAL.

Been collecting parts for months. The upper is a DSA Type 1, the lower is a Type 1 G1, the barrel an Imbel, most of the lower parts are DSA and Belgian. Argentine bolt carrier and rear sight, unknown bolt I bought on gunbroker.

Put a folding charging handle on it too.

I figure Im gonna put an optic on it, but I cant wait to shoot it!

Wow, Bobby. Those 30 rounders look unwieldy, but then again a 21" FAL is already a tank. lol

The 2nd FAL I have owned. My first was a inch pattern Century Arms L1A1, I like the DSA a lot better.

I recently converted my current DSA FAL to featureless.

Unfortunately, with the new muzzle break, the Belgian tubular bayonet I have for it no longer fits. The picture of the featureless conversion is before the removal the "bullet box" covering the magazine release. If I could only keep two battle rifles for the rest of my life, I think it would be the FAL and the M1 Garand. If I could only keep one...I guess the Garand would win out.

Here's my DSA. Fantastic rifle. Love shooting it. The sling has been swapped out with a proper surplus FAL sling.

Default The father of them all....

The Father of all FN FAL's..

Original FN "G" series from the 1960's. In it's original box with all the associated papers and manuals which came with it. This rifle, and all other early "G" series rifles were specifically listed as Curios & Relics by the BATFE shortly after import as they were made on standard FA receivers. They were specifically exempted from the NFA . They are 100% legal and extremely rare today. Some had wood stocks and hand guards, and some had wood butt stocks and the green fiberglass hand guards. Others had metal hand guards.
