Default Recommend a LGS that offers better than most store credit for a handgun

I know doing a PPT will get me the most dollar but work and other factors is a hassle. Was wondering is there are LGS in S.Cali that gives pretty decent store credit for a handgun.

Just picked up my Kahr K9 from jail and shot 250 rounds through it. Cleaned it before and after, kind of a pain to takedown...I like cleaning and shooting my Glock better.

I'm guessing shops will give me about 50% value?

Most shops will give around 40% or less depending on the condition, accessories, rarity, caliber of the gun. The shop also has to hold it for 30 days before selling it so that's money tied up. You may get 250 to 300 for it.

Oh yea, just to clarify, I don't want cash but store credit for another gun. But yea I guess asking 400-500 store credit will make them laugh.

I guess that's why everyone has a big collection.

You might as well go flush $300 down the toilet and kick yourself in the nuts. It will save the drive and you'll still have the gun.

PPT is the way to go.

Yea i would avoid it. I needed cash once and tried to sell my glock 17 to a gun store for some quick cash. I cant remember what they offered me but it was really low, like $200 or something like that. Not to mention they couldnt give me cash it was a check that i wouldnt receive after like a month because they wanted to sell the gun before i received the money. Find the time and sell it ppt

Here is a tip: rem 870 shotguns you will get 100 to 125. Glocks 200 to 225. If a gun sells new btwn 500 and 600 you'll get under 300 if your lucky. Gun stores make their money on used guns, ammo and accessories and not new one due to really no profit in new gun sales.

Either way you sell it you have to make one trip to LGS. Might as well be for ppt. LGS will estimate what they can sell it for which will probably be less than you paid and then give you 40-60% of their estimate. PPT is the way to go.

If they are Gen 4 Practical Tactical Long slides, that is not a bad deal. If they are Glock 42 and 43's, that is another matter altogether.

Do a sale ad and or wtt ad here. If you set your price realistically, i.e. for less than a brand new one can be bought for, it'll sell. Also list what guns you'd be interested in trading it for and if you are willing to trade up or down with cash if trading's your thing. Hell trade it for a different model glock, someone will probably take you up on it.
