Default GSSF and CGSSA Presents: GLOCK West Coast Challenge III - Spring (04/07 & 04/08)

On Saturday, April 7, 2018 and Sunday, April 8, 2017 we'll be hosting the The GLOCK West Coast Challenge III - Spring at Burro Canyon Shooting Park (22100 E East Fork Rd, Azusa, CA 91702) in Azusa, CA.

As always, we'll be looking for a platoon of high speed (low drag) volunteers to help us set up and run the event. We'll be running shifts for 1/2 Day Friday (setup), All Day Saturday, and All Day Sunday.

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

If you're not familiar with GSSF matches here's a nice 17 minute video that takes you stage by stage and division by division.

I hope to see you there...

When I registered, I only did it once and chose Saturday and Sunday, is that okay or do we have to register twice (once for Sat and once for Sun) like last November?

Just one form with two check boxes is fine this time around. You should have also received an email with you selections and a link, so you can go back and edit them later if you’d like.

In November we used PractiScore, and there seem to be a huge learning curve, so we’ve moved on and simplified.

Thanks for stepping up to help!

Sorry, one more question, I have been practicing for the competition the way I normally keep my glock; with a magwell. I checked the rules (40.30.7 & 40.40.9) and only the grip plug is brass, but the magwell is actually aluminum, so I wasn't sure. I then called GSSF and was told that they would prefer no magwell, but an aluminum or polymer one would be okay in the non-unlimited divisions (Amateur Civ, Competition, etc.).

A photo is attached, what do you guys think?

Since there are no reloads on the clock there is no real advantage is running that and the brass plug does adds some weight possibly giving a slight advantage in recoil damping. Just pull it off for the match.

RoundEye usually send something out a week before. If you registered on PS, you're good, if not showing up is usually fine too.

See you all Friday for setup!!! ... and Saturday & Sunday!

Weatherman currently claiming rain showers Saturday. We might need clear plastic bags for targets. Hope weathermen are their usual --- not so accurate selves!

Saw chance of showers too, Darryl. Hopefuly no rain, but it would be a new experience for me to shoot in that type of weather.

Another question for you all, is it usually better to shoot on Saturday or Sunday regarding finding time between RO duties?

Friday after setup is the best for RO's. But later in the day on Saturday or Sunday is feasible too!

Had an awesome time working with the greatest people today! Met some new and old friends from previous GSSF events here in So Cal. Looking forward to tomorrows finale!

I heard we ran over 350 shooters today, do we have a final count for the day?

See y'all in the morning!

That helps! Thanks! However, there are probably some of those 385 that pre-registered, but are shooting tomorrow. So we are probably somewhere between 350 and 385. If what I heard today was accurate.

Chad, do you have an official shooter count for today?

Either way, it looks like we will take the lead in the west coast and surpass 500 easily! I believe our large core of repeat volunteers is greatly helping us run a smoother and smoother even each time. Its also helping us bring new volunteers up-to-speed quicker! <-- in my opinion.

As a competitor an volunteer, I'd like to thank Glock\GSSF, Burro Canyon Range, our fantastic crew of Calguns\GSSF volunteers, our fellow competitors\target pasters, OUR LUNCH CREW, and all the other people who make this event possible!!! You all deserve a huge pat on the back for a job well done!

LETS KEEP GROWING THIS EVENT!

Thank you all for the hard work. Pre-registered but wasn’t able to make it today as planned so I will have to try tomorrow.

Is the multi stage section for 3+ or 4+ division shooters? Couldn’t recall what it was from Nov.

Likely you'll be able to do either one. Those bays move pretty quick.

It is for 4+... however, we had several 3 division shooters we ran through today.

But... they had enough mags to not have to reload between shooting their different divisions.

Man was I sunbeam after yesterday, huge thanks to Chad, Jacob, Team Glock, and even the staff at Burro seems much nicer each time we are there.

Shout out to Scott V for running the Glock'M and doing a fantastic job of it, much appreciated. To all the other volunteers, great work, such a pleasure to see so many new faces and people working the stages and running things smoothly.

on a personal note, I shot my best ever 80 seconds!
