in the same predicament right now. GEt the 4-14 Mildot or 4-14 ACSS. Is it worth the extra $50. I know the Mildot is greatbut the new one with ACSS, not sure; if could have potential issues with the reticle in the future.

ITS BEEN AWHILE, but I'm hoping my friends from PA are monitoring this and will respond.

I'm a hardcore BDC reticle guy and the ACSS HUD DMR is my all time favorite. But...

I've been corresponding with some smart guys who tell me that the ACOG/CMR/CRS/ACSS thing just can't work at longer ranges. The story goes that because of the extreme, accelerated, nonlinear ballistic drop of a bullet at longer ranges and the effects of accumulated wind drift out there, AND the fact that your reticle is subtending large chunks of real estate at longer ranges, a person using one of these reticles will end up holding in the air and effectively using crude "Kentucky windage" (so to speak). All that, combined with decreasing accuracy at ranging via reticle alone at longer distances, they say, will result in poor hit probability at unknown ranges in combat conditions.

I really want the ACSS to work at longer mid-range. Can anyone tell me how, given all the above, it can?
