Legasat THANK YOU, you are one of the ones who did the good.

Actually I see it as the members here at CalGuns are doing some serious good for the cause. I am just helping, and I hope it is helping both the members here and the NRA.

I appreciate everyone here stepping up for all gun owners. I appreciate the fine folks here not turning this into a NRA bash thread as well. As we say in occupied Alabama "y'all have been ah-ite"

Received my package 13 days after signing up. Had no clue there was a $10,000 life insurance policy that came with it.

Thanks Robert

And you are the 100th new life member in this thread. Thanks everyone who have stood up for all gunowners. Calguns has put 30,000$ in the NRA coffers in this thread alone. Y'all are amazing. I will continue to sponsor anyone who needs it.

Einstein said the power of compounding was the most powerful force known. If everyone sponsored another, say a friend or family member, can you imagine?

Several here already have, I know a few who have sponsored three or four. That is awesome. Keep up the good work calguns!

Seems like the NRA may be stepping things up. For those not getting their stuff in two weeks, I am here to say it generally took 5 a month or so ago. I signed two of my boys up April 24th. I got one package in about 3 weeks, and got the other package last week. That's just how the ball rolls sometimes. I signing up 300+ life members here and various other sites, I have had to call them 3 times. One was a legit mistake by the NRA that they corrected, another guy turned out his apartment number wasn't on his address (not sure whose fault) and the third was my son. When it crossed the 5 week mark I called and darn if the packet wasn't in my mailbox when I made the call.

So I say all of that to say this, if you don't get your package in the two weeks like some are posting here, remain patient. I just go ahead and tell everyone it is a 5 week process, because at one point it was.

So expect 5 weeks.

I think that would work fine. But you may need to cancel first.

PM Robert and ask him. The sign-up procedure is painless, but you pay in full with your own credit or debit card.

Yep, and don't forget the certificate and the voting rights. I was told by a member of the Board of Directors that about 4% of eligible voters actually participate. The way the NRA voting system is set up, if all the calguns members got together, you could possibly 'bullet slate' someone to the BoD. It would take coordination though. I know it has worked in the past, and it was for the better. If you do it, Please don't do it for another FUD. We need more like Joe Debergalis.

With all the money being sent to NRA. Has the NRA done anything for SB249? Curious. It would be nice to see a list of supporters that are helping and how. This might help to either stop the auto debits or continue to give more to them helping us.

I have no clue on SB249. I assume this is your state bill everyone is upset about. I hope the NRA is doing whatever they can do against it, but I cannot speak for them. As someone who does not live in your state, I will be honest and say I do not know. With the legislators who are running wild in California, I don't know what they can do to be honest.

One thing I have noticed though is that a large portion of the litigation the NRA is involved in, is in your state. I am sure the NRA picks its battles.

There was a bill in my home state this year that the NRA was a no show on. It did a number of things including the clarification of open carry, and making my state a shall issue state. Instead the NRA was there just to try and get a law passed allowing employees to be able to leave their guns in the car at work. Many people in a group I belong too Alabama Open Carry were in an uproar.

I can list many things about the NRA that make me mad. I could rant and rave about them all day. I learned a decade ago that it does no good. I am a life member and do not plan on resigning, so I have decided to try and work within it. I have decided to sign up as many people as I can who can vote, and when the next board election is held, try and send those 300+ voting members a nice little pm that contains a little more info on the candidates than what is in the NRA magazine.

After being involved helping to elect one activist to the board, and seeing him reelected this year, I know it can be done. I am encouraged. There is no doubt in my mind that if all of the folks who have signed up in this thread would network and really get involved, that you would be able to put one of your own on the board. No doubt. Now we are talking about 1 board member out of 70, but it is a start. Just my 2 cents

With all of the above being said, and the fact that I could rant and rave for days on end about the NRA myself, I appreciate the fact that this has yet to be turned into a NRA bash thread. Thanks everyone.
