Default Introduction of Primary Arms 4-14FFP ACSS .308/.223 HUD

Dimitri your reticle is amazing. My only concern is for those of us that don't shoot 308. Personally I prefer the 7mm-08 and so how will the ACSS calibrated for 308 help me?

A Viper with a ACSS HUD would be interesting.

I'm not saying put that reticle in a Viper, but replace my viper with your Primary Arms scope. I would swap the Viper over to my Mossberg MVP. I typically shoot at known distances, and have a nice Leica rangefinder to support me when I don't know distances. The windage is typically the most difficult for me, but I'm getting better.

What bullet and fps are u shooting?
You could also use all the ranging and then simply dial in like normal. There is another reticle in horizon called ACSS R Grid. Its designed for all calibers and more precision oriented keep an eye out.

PM sent on wind

My rangefinder out in the desert will give signal 50% of the time past 600 yards. I am able to range more accurately with the reticle it does not rely on signal or batteries ranging the target and not 50 yards behind it or front of it. Desert clutter will make rangefinders act weird and goodluck seeing splash. There is brush everywhere.

Tag. I've never used a scope like this but at this price point, I'm definitely willing to try. I shoot mostly short range 200 yards at most and I'd like to try some longer distances with my AR-10. First AR in 308 so I'm still learning and I currently just have an eotech on it that I had from another AR. I think the eotech is my AR-10s handicap lol. I'm definitely willing to get together with some guys in the riverside/ inland empire area to learn about mil/moa. Thanks Dimitri and keep up the good work!!!

P.S. What distances would this scope be good for on an AR308 and AR-15?

I'm shooting the Sierra 150gr hpbt at about 2700fps. I already have your 4-14 FFP mil/mil scope for this rifle but would eventually like to grab something with more magnification. Will the R Grid be on the 5.5-25x that you mentioned? If so, put me down for 2!

It looks like your dead on out to 800 yards! About 7-8" low at 900 and about 13" low at 1000!
Its still getting you center mass hits! Compare it to the BDC listed in BDC section.

Bummer I just got the 4-14 FFP recently. Any way to upgrade an existing 4-14 if we send them in?

Shoot the 4-14 and sell it when the ACSS HUD shows up. It will be a few months before it does.

You know, this isn't quite my cup of tea(just a little too busy looking for a reticule for me), but what PA has put into it, and what it's capable of is pretty amazing. Hats off to you sir!

I hate busy reticles. But honestly this isnt that busy when you take into account how easy it is compared to others. Just gotta train and use it to get the hang of it and after that youre good as gold. Even if you decide to ignore the other features the center point isnt cluttered.

When you compare it to a reticle like this, its as purist and plain as it gets!!!

Thank you and I understand what your saying but where would you hold on a standard reticle for mover sprinting say at 500? Or lets say combat reticles are not your thing where would you hold for a 600 yard shot in a 10 mph wind?
Not to mention how do you know the target is 600 yards away to begin with?

Thanks Bombadillo is that a Horus reticle? That kind of reticle is good for punching in exact data but I am with you it looks busy. There is a big difference between a med/long range combat reticles like ACSS HUD and everything else. Targets of limited exposure and opportunity are gone with in 2 seconds! There is no time for running data! With the HUD you fit n shoot increasing your time on target and hit ratio dramatically! With other reticles your guessing distance and holding between imaginary mil holds.

Is there any likelihood at all that this will be offered with MOA turrets?

Didn't see the other 3 pages when I asked for MOA. Yes, some of us think in MOA, not Mils. 10 MOA is probably a bit much, but 4 or 5 MOA would be just about perfect. Hash marks instead of dots? I hate having to read from the center of one dot to the next.

Other than that, I would happily buy 2 right now at that price.

Shot this today 600 yards!

fired 10 hit 5 judging the wind was the hardest part and shooting 12Gauge 3" mag 00 before hand really threw off my shot.
5.56 dialed in about 1" low at 100 yards it lines up pretty well out to 900 yards or so! We are still testing different loads.
20" AR 15 Delton Frankenstein build

Thats from shotgun testing on the red dots not from this test. All PA red dots get 50 rounds of 00 3" mag though them in order to pass recoil testing. I make the best of it running and gunning during testing.
