Angry GUN POWDER @ SAN DIEGO SHOW?

So after be let down at the last SD gun show. (NO POWDER) I email Cross Roads and asked if there was going to be any GUN POWDER for sale at this Gun Show. A week later I received my answer!! Below is the email!! DAM!!!
This just sucks!!!

EMAIL
To whom it may concern.
Ok at the last San Diego show there was no gun powder there to buy.
Is there going to be this time?? If yes how much will there be? enough for the first 20-40 people?
I really don’t want to waste my time, money and gas showing up there just to find out there is no powder.
Thank you Doug

Doug-
Sorry, there will not be any powder. The fire marshal will not allow it.
We wish you well!

It changed during the last one or two gunshows. As well as they do not sell rebuild kits at the last one. I have a hunch it was the people protsting to keep the gunshow out of delmar period.

Actually I bet it has something to do with the fact that Crossroads is a plaintiff in a lawsuit filed by the SF City Attorney

I think you mean that Crossroads is the defendant right? SF City is suing and Crossroads is defending, yes?

I sent this message this morning:

Quote:
I have heard rumor that there will be no gun powder at the Del Mar gun
show this weekend. Is this true?

If this is true, what other Southern California or Arizona gun shows
will be selling powder? I will travel to one that has what I am
looking for.

Also, please elaborate on exactly what agency and what regulation they
are using to prohibit powder sales if the rumor was correct about the
fire marshal not allowing it. We may be able to apply public pressure
to change their minds.

This is the reply I received this afternoon.

There is no prohibition from government agencies regarding powder at our shows. The only prohibition is related to the amount that can be inside a building. Because we cannot monitor who has how much powder, we only have powder at our shows where we have outdoor space. That said, the only limitations are due to supply and demand. There will be powder this weekend at Del Mar.

Please ignore the reply so I don't have to compete with as many people ofr powder.

Yes, they have plenty of powder. But at $215 per 8 lb bottle or $30 per 1 lb bottle, they can keep it.

www.thirdgenerationshootingsupply.com had most powder for $20-$23 / 1 lb bottle or $140-$155 per 8 lb bottle. Even with the $27.50 shipping costs you save at least $35 per 8 lb bottle.

Yeah, that was me.

I did find a few things inside to make the trip worth while. I think it is time to start getting some of the guns that I have been drooling over.

A .308 or 6.5 bolt action, medium range gun with a good scope or possibly a featureless AR with a 20" heavy barrel in .300 blackout?

A .22lr for 25 and 50 yd competitions?

I am more interested in shooting tight groups at a distance than hunting or home defense.

Well....I guess the powder ran dry by the time I got there.....after the long wait. But I got two bricks of primers. And also got my load of ammos for targets before the Calif. ammo ban starts..

Thanks for the link to 3rd Generation........Learn something new each day.

Did any of the popular powders stock last long (ie varget/RL 15)? I am assuming they were out later.
