Nice pics.

Thanks guys, I really enjoyed the day.
I missed the .454 casull, I was so ready to ask Ed for the opportunity to try the beast but somehow I got sidetracked. Oh well, next time.

Holy crap! Down to the hand gesture and everything!

On a side note, gotta give it up to guys like mtbryder and ojisan for bringing family members out to ASR today. Really, it epitomizes the very best in our sport when you guys do things like that. Hats off to you fellows.

Yup thats me with my shorty AR. It was a real fun day meeting a bunch of Calgunner's and getting some trigger time in.

It's this aspect of the forum that really goes a long way to building and fostering the community that we all love and enjoy here at Calguns.

Cant wait for the next shoot will definitely keep my ears open for the next get together.

Let me know next time you're out there and I'll see if I can swing by.

What a great time yesterday!

Great to see and meet so many people, thank you for setting this up and thanks to everyone whose guns I fired.

This was my first time to a Calguns meet. Super group out there yesterday, makes me appreciate this forum even more.

He's hypnotizing him. He's saying..."look into my eyes....You will sign over ownership of all of your guns and ammunition to me for free......" That's what I heard him saying...

What a great time we had at ASR yesterday!

Thank you to everyone for their generosity and for allowing my girls to shoot your guns (and my ex). They had a really good time.

The coaching they received was invaluable. Ken, thank you for giving Alicia the pointers on shooting the 22lr, she really had a great time and I was able to focus my attention on helping McKenna (my 8 year old) hit her target with another 22 (bolt action), she is getting a 3 year head start on her sister so I can see her becoming a crack shot also. I'm extremely lucky to have kids (girls even!) who absolutely love to shoot, just like their old man. Will definitely have to get a rifle that is competition quality so that Alicia can get out there and shoot with other kids her age. After almost 3 years of archery she is ready for that next step.

Thanks again to all of you (you know who you are) for making a great day for me and my family.

Paul - mtbryder

I loved seeing the pics & those BIG smiles!! I hope to join my fellow CalGuners the next time @ ASR..... hope you guys got some practice in for the Tactical Turkey Shoot

Paul, since you teamed up with Dave & Cameron plus Cams Dad Howie & I formed another team with Yanevi & Junko, lets get some practice in before the big competition - I know I might suck under time/nerves/pressure/ etc BUT its all in good fun!!

Good job everyone, until next time

You're gonna do fine dude. I've seen you shoot. besides they will classify teams according to ability, so you will compete on your level. Basic stuff you need to know I'll teach on the 25th. or you can pay to have a skill course from TAC ($50). you're NOT a newb, and the course of fire is going to be geared for non professionals. Its goin to be fun. (all we have to concentrate on is beating Dave and Paul)

(all we have to concentrate on is beating Dave and Paul)
Just to let you guys know, I have been shooting up at ASR every Sunday for the last month or so. I have confirmed shots out to well beyond the range maximum of 600 yards (others that are on this thread can attest to that) but I can't give you specifics because I have been sworn to secrecy by my mentor and shooting coach.....(he knows who he is).

I'm not bragging but I think I have had one of the best long distance shooters on CalGuns coaching me every weekend. I always joke around with him that I can't hit the side of a barn until he arrives at the range.....

But seriously, everyone that I have shot with at the range and the BLM shoots have been extremely helpful, extremely thoughtful and all are willing to share their toys and their knowledge. It was great to see Paul (Kestryll) out there yesterday. He even said that he is going to try and make it to the club meeting on Saturday.

All in all it was just another great CG outing, I look forward to many many more in the future.
