Default Lincoln Rifle Club

I just went to my first meeting at the Lincoln Rifle Club, going through the probationary period right now. I just wanted to know if there's anyone else on here that is a member of the club? If so, can you share any experiences, stories, cool members, etc...

Sorry to say im a member and im letting my membership lapse. Lincoln has become to big for its own ego and its no longer convenient. Pay attention to its hours of operation and see if the membership is worth it. In my case its cheaper to pay the 7 bucks on the weekend than 80 annually. Good luck

Not a member...so forgive the question: Why not DO something about getting the hours changed? Whats the holdup? Noise complaints? No RO's to staff? Not enough liability insurance?

A few of my friends tried to shoot a handgun there but they would not let them since they were not 21.

That is rediculous. You can own and posess and handgun and not be 21, just not buy one.

The LRC has to reduced their shooting hours because the CLAY operation right behind them!, Also after the accident happened by a cop who shot in wrong direction, his bullet went out of the range property, since then, you can shoot only with a present of a Range officer.

I am a new member, so I dont have the experience that the other guys have but, so far, I have been very happy with the club. I haven't ran into any range time issues yet, and it is more than worth the money spent to have a safe place to shoot. Anyone who has spent a reasonable amount of time out at the spenceville rifle range can appreciate that. Plus every member I have had contact has been very friendly and not snobbish in the least.

If you are willing to drive out to spenceville why not drive a little bit further into Yuba City and shoot at the public range near the airport?

I wanted a safe place to teach my little boy to shoot, and I had heard nothing but good about the LRC, and to be perfectly honest, they have so far lived up to my expectations and been a good group of people to deal with. And on a side note, isn't the Range only open half the year? Do they have fees? I would rather deal with a set group of people, instead of a bunch of new poeple everytime, and possible Yahoos. Plus for $60 year (you get this back with 8 hours of work for the club) I think it's well worth it.

I did not want to be the one to bring up the accident that ruined the good old days at the LRC. The cop did not really shoot in the wrong direction (kinda). He shot his .40 cal elevated enough so that it went above the berms. went about 900 yards down range and through the window of some truck or tractor used in the clay mining and injured one of the workers. The club officials had to do some fancy footwork or the factory (who owns the land) were going to shut it down right now. They really are a bunch of great guys and really help out new guys that want to get started in IDPA style shooting. Go to one of the matches. First weekend of the month.
